PREPOLYMER, RESIN COMPOSITION COMPRISING THE SAME AND ARTICLE MADE THEREFROM
A prepolymer is prepared by subjecting a compound of Formula (I) and a vinyl-containing compound to a prepolymerization reaction, and a resin composition includes the prepolymer. The vinyl-containing compound includes bis(vinylphenyl) ethane, divinylbenzene, modification of divinylbenzene or a combination thereof. A ratio in part by weight of the compound of Formula (I) to the vinyl-containing compound in the prepolymerization reaction is 8:2 to 6:4. The resin composition includes the prepolymer and an additive, and an article made from the resin composition may include a resin film, a prepreg, a laminate or a printed circuit board.
Rubber composition and crosslinked rubber
A rubber composition that contains 0.1 to 50 parts by weight of an organic peroxide with respect to 100 parts by weight of a cyclopentene ring-opening polymer.
ASSOCIATIVE POLYMERS AND RELATED COMPOSITIONS, METHODS AND SYSTEMS
Described herein are associative polymers capable of controlling a physical and/or chemical property of non-polar compositions and related compositions, methods and systems. Associative polymers herein described have a non-polar backbone and functional groups presented at ends of the non-polar backbone, with a number of the functional groups presented at the ends of the non-polar backbone formed by associative functional groups capable of undergoing an associative interaction with another associative functional group with an association constant (k) such that the strength of each associative interaction is less than the strength of a covalent bond between atoms and in particular less than the strength of a covalent bond between backbone atoms.
Two component mass polymerizable compositions containing polycycloolefin monomers and organoruthenium carbide precatalyst
Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass a two component composition containing in one component a latent organo-ruthenium carbide catalyst, and in another component a photoactive acid generator or a thermally active acid generator, and either of the components containing a mixture of photoactive compound along with one or more monomers which undergo ring open metathesis polymerization (ROMP) when said components are mixed together and exposed to a suitable radiation (or heat) to form a three-dimensional (3D) object. The three-dimensional objects so formed exhibits improved mechanical properties, particularly, high heat distortion temperature, impact strength, elongation to break, among others. Accordingly, compositions of this invention are useful as 3D inkjet materials for forming high impact strength objects of various sizes with microscale features lower than 100 microns, among various other uses.
Shaping material, resin shaped product, cosmetic container, semiconductor container, and method of producing semiconductor container
A shaping material contains a crystalline alicyclic structure-containing resin. More specifically, the crystalline alicyclic structure-containing resin in the shaping material has a melting point of 200° C. or higher, and content of chlorobenzene-soluble components in the shaping material is 1,000 ppm or less as an o-dichlorobenzene-equivalent value based on gas chromatography analysis with o-dichlorobenzene as a standard substance.
CYCLIC OLEFIN POLYMER HAVING EPOXY FUNCTIONAL GROUP PREPARED BY RING-OPENING METATHESIS POLYMERIZATION
The present disclosure relates to a cyclic olefin polymer having an epoxy functional group prepared by ring-opening metathesis polymerization and method of preparing the same.
Metathesis catalyst system for polymerizing cycloolefins
A supported catalyst system is based on a transition metal carbene including the moiety M1=CR*).sub.2, wherein M.sup.1 is the transition metal and R* is hydrogen or a C.sub.1-C.sub.8 hydrocarbyl. The catalyst system can be supported on a metal oxide support such as silica or the catalyst can be self-supporting. Methods of making the catalyst system can involve precursors based on and/or reacted with aluminum alkyls, halides, and/or alkoxides. Methods of polymerizing cyclic olefins with the catalyst system can obtain polyalkenamers, cyclic olefin polymers, cyclic olefin copolymers, and other metathesis reaction products. The supported catalyst and/or monomer can be recovered and recycled to the polymerization reactor.
Olefin metathesis photopolymers
Described herein are compositions and methods for processing photopolymers based on olefin metathesis. The compositions and methods comprise latent ruthenium complexes and photoacids and/or photoacid generators.
SHELF LIFE STABLE AND IMPROVED MASS POLYMERIZABLE POLYCYCLIC-OLEFINIC COMPOSITIONS
Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass compositions containing one or more polycycloolefinic monomers, optionally at least one multifunctional olefinic monomer and a suitable solvent, which exhibits long shelf life stability and undergoes mass polymerization only when subjected to a suitable temperature to provide a three-dimensional insulating articles. Embodiments of this invention exhibit hitherto unattainable properties, such as for example, low dielectric constant and low loss properties, and very high thermal properties, among others. The compositions of this invention may additionally contain one or more organic or inorganic filler materials, which provide improved thermo-mechanical properties in addition to very low dielectric properties. In general the compositions are stable at room temperature for an extended period of time lasting up to a few weeks and undergo mass polymerization only when subjected to suitable higher temperatures generally above 100° C. The compositions of this invention are useful in various applications, including as insulating materials in millimeter wave radar antennas, among others.
