A surface-treating agent including a perfluoro(poly)ether group-containing silane compound and a perfluoro(poly)ether group-containing compound. The perfluoro(poly)ether group-containing compound contains a radical capturing group or a UV absorbing group in the molecule.
High performance coatings for building panels
The present invention is directed to dirt and anti-microbial resistant articles that include a substrate, a powder coating applied to the substrate, the powder coating may include a cross-linked polymeric binder. The powder coating may include a blend of metal borate and a sulfur-containing benzimidazole compound, wherein the metal borate and sulfur-containing benzimidazole compound are present in a weight ratio ranging from about 75:1 to about 10:1. The powder coating may include fluorosurfactant and a fluorosurfactant may be applied to the powder coating in an amount ranging from about 0.01 g/m.sup.2 to about 4 g/m.sup.2. The powder coating may be formed using a liquid-based fluorosurfactant.
Polymeric coatings for metal surfaces
Polymer compositions for coating of metal surfaces including moieties that interact with a metal atom in the metal surface and optionally containing antifoulant moieties. These polymer compositions provide lubricious coatings for medical devices, anticorrosion coatings for metal components, and antifoulant coatings for marine components such as propellers. The polymer composition is synthesized in a safe manner in which the synthesis components are added to a synthesis vat and there is no need for filtration or removal of waste materials in any step including the consumer use. As such this invention provides an environmentally sound approach to composition synthesis, formulation development, and consumer use.

Bugphobic and icephobic compositions with fluid additives
Some variations provide an anti-fouling segmented copolymer composition comprising: (a) one or more first soft segments selected from fluoropolymers; (b) one or more second soft segments selected from polyesters or polyethers; (c) one or more isocyanate species possessing an isocyanate functionality of 2 or greater, or a reacted form thereof; (d) one or more polyol or polyamine chain extenders or crosslinkers, or a reacted form thereof; and (e) a fluid additive selectively disposed in the first soft segments or in the second soft segments. Other variations provide an anti-fouling segmented copolymer precursor composition comprising a fluid additive precursor selectively disposed in the first soft segments or in the second soft segments, wherein the fluid additive precursor includes a protecting group. The anti-fouling segmented copolymer composition may be present in an anti-ice coating, an anti-bug coating, an anti-friction coating, an energy-transfer material, or an energy-storage material, for example.

The present invention is directed to dirt and anti-microbial resistant compositions and articles that include a powder coating composition formed from a precursor including polymeric binder resin, cross-linker, and a blend of liquid carrier and anionic fluorosurfactant. The powder coating may be formed using a liquid-based anionic fluorosurfactant wherein the solids content of the anionic fluorosurfactant within the precursor is from about 13 wt. % to about 28 wt. %.
Microbial growth and dust retardant roofing shingles
A microbial growth and dust retardant roofing shingle comprising a substrate and a pore filling composition applied on the surface of the substrate is disclosed. The pore filling composition comprises a silane or acrylic composition. A method of protecting a substrate from microbial growth and soiling using the pore filling composition of the present disclosure is also disclosed.
