Fleece for sustained release of an active substance
The invention relates to the use of a fleece composed of plastic filaments, in particular made of a thermoplastic, as a sustained-released system or as a storage system for at least one active substance, in particular for at least one active liquid. The filaments are spun using a spinneret, and the plastic material of the filaments is foamed so that pores are formed at least on the surface or in surface regions of the filaments and at least some of the pores are pores that are open outward, and at least some of the open pores are filled with the active substance, in particular with the active liquid.

High strength and high modulus ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene fibers
The present disclosure relates to a compact polymer gel consisting of disentangled ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene (dis-UHMWPE), at least one nucleator, at least one filler and at least one fluid medium. The present disclosure also provides a process for the preparation of the compact polymeric gel and fibers from the compact polymeric gel of both low and high denier values. The fibers prepared in accordance with the present process have tensile strength ranging from 2.5 to 13 GPa, tensile modulus ranging from 100 to 270 GPa.
Medical Fabric
Provided is a medical fabric that is thin, and has both high tear strength and low water permeability. The medical fabric is characterized in that multifilament yarns having a total fineness of 7-80 dtex are disposed in the warp and weft, the single yarn fineness of at least one of the multifilament yarns among the warp and weft is 0.5 dtex or less, the twist factor A of the weft is 50-2,000, the thickness is 10-90 m, and the water permeability both before and after puncture by a needle is 300 cc/min/cm.sup.2 or less.

Method for Making a Shaped Nonwoven
A method for making nonwoven fabric. The nonwoven fabric can include three-dimensional features that define a microzone comprising a first region and a second region. The first and second regions can have a difference in values for an intensive property. The nonwoven further has a plurality of apertures, wherein at least a portion of the aperture abuts at least one of the first region and the second region of the microzone.
MONOFILAMENT AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
To provide a monofilament of PA4, which has a low density. The monofilament of polyamide 4 in an embodiment of the present invention has a density of 1.230 g/cm.sup.3 or less. A method for producing a monofilament of polyamide 4 according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: melt-extruding polyamide 4; and cooling a melted and extruded matter of the polyamide 4 obtained by the melt-extruding process, at ?10? ? C. or lower by using a nonpolar solvent.
