Air rich yarn and fabric and its method of manufacturing
10196763 · 2019-02-05 · ·

The present invention relates to air rich yarn and fabric with pores throughout the cross-section. Air rich yarn and fabric have high wettability, easy dryability, quick absorbency and increased thickness. When air rich yarn is used to make terry fabric it makes thicker fabric with increased capacity to absorb water and also release moisture faster while drying.

A terry woven fabric includes hygro yarns structures. The hygro yarns are formed with soluble fibers, which are later removed, to define yarn structures with hollow cores.

COILED ACTUATOR SYSTEM AND METHOD
20180291535 · 2018-10-11 ·

A system and method of generating a coiled actuator fiber. The method includes twisting a fiber to generate a twisted fiber, wrapping the twisted fiber around a core to generate a coil in the twisted fiber; and removing at least a portion of the core to generate a coiled actuator fiber. In some aspects that fiber can be a yarn with one or more fibers or a fiber comprising a single elongated element. In some aspects, a portion of the core includes a removable sacrificial portion. The removable sacrificial portion can be dissolvable in a solvent or physically removable. In some aspects, the core further includes a non-dissolvable portion that is not dissolvable and generating a coiled actuator can include removing the sacrificial portion by treating a twisted fiber on the core to remove the sacrificial portion and leaving the non-dissolvable portion.

A process is described wherein pile yarn is woven with cotton weft and warp yarns to produce terry fabrics, such as towels. The fabric is then washed in warm water to dissolve the PVA fibers. The amours of fibers dissolved, depends upon the count of the yarn or yarns used. By dissolving the PVA fibers, a hollow air space is produced throughout the pile yarn, corresponding to an increase in the air space in the pile yarn. By increasing the air space in the pile yarn, the resulting towels are softer and bulkier than standard cotton towels. The present invention further relates to pile yarn in terry woven fabric (warp yarn), or weft yarn, in the case of flat fabrics.

NANOFIBER YARN DISPENSER

A dispenser is described for dispensing nanofiber yarns that includes a housing that defines an inlet, an outlet, and a chamber. A spool, around which is wound a length of nanofiber yarn, is disposed within the chamber defined by the housing. The nanofiber yarn is threaded from the chamber through the outlet and can be dispensed in a controlled way that reduces the likelihood of developing knots within the nanofiber yarn, and which facilitates convenient application of the yarn onto an underlying surface. In some cases, the dispenser can be used to concurrently dispense an adhesive or other polymer along with the nanofiber yarn.

Preform and knitted tubular item having a retaining edge of a single thickness and method of producing such an item

The method of producing a tubular knitted item (10), in particular a leg for a pair of tights, involves preceding the normal basic knit with a start that involves knitting, on only a portion of the needles on p first courses (11, 12) and on all of the needles on q subsequent courses (13, 14), an elastane yarn (21) covered with a water-soluble yarn (22); then, once the item has been knitted, the item undergoes an aqueous treatment, for example combined with dyeing, so as to make the water-soluble yarn (22) covering disappear, whereby the p+q courses (11-14) of knitted elastane that precede the normal basic knit are kept on the edge of the item.

Warp-knitted Fabric of Filament and short staple composite yarn and preparation method thereof
20180105962 · 2018-04-19 ·

The present invention discloses a warp-knitted fabric of filament and short staple composite yarn and a preparation method thereof. The warp-knitted fabric of filament and short staple composite yarn is prepared by the corresponding preparation method for the warp-knitted fabric of filament and short staple composite yarn. The preparation method for the warp-knitted fabric of filament and short staple composite yarn has excellent weavability, and can effectively prepare the warp-knitted fabric which is high in size stability, is soft, has high elasticity, is wrinkle-resistant and has an excellent hand feeling and comfort. Moreover, in the preparation method, soluble fiber filaments can be added to prepare a warp-knitted fabric or a 3D interval warp-knitted fabric which is partially or entirely formed by 100% short staple yarns; and low-melting-point filaments can also be added to prepare a warp-knitted fabric which can be randomly cut and has no edge curling variation.
