Nonwoven materials having at least one layer comprising high core bicomponent fibers are provided. The nonwoven materials can have multiple layers and are suitable for use in a variety of applications, including in absorbent products. Such nonwoven materials can be patterned to create a three-dimensional topography including indentations formed of valleys and ridges. The nonwoven materials can have improved resiliency and strength and can retain their structure under wetted conditions and after tension and compression. The nonwoven materials can further facilitate the transfer of the liquid through the nonwoven material for improved liquid distribution and can also have improved liquid retention properties.

A pipe liner comprising a nonwoven felt, and process for making said nonwoven felt, the nonwoven felt consisting essentially of 0 to 85 weight percent polyester staple fibers and 15 to 100 weight percent para-aramid staple fibers, the nonwoven felt having a basis weight of 250 to 600 grams per square meter and a thickness of 2.0 to 5.0 mm; wherein: 20 to 100 weight percent of the total amount of para-aramid staple fibers are re-purposed para-aramid staple fibers, 0 to 80 weight percent of the total amount of para-aramid staple fibers are crimped virgin para-aramid staple fibers having a uniform cut length, and at least 50 weight percent of the total amount of the combined polyester and para-aramid staple fibers are crimped staple fibers.

Charged polymeric webs, such as electret webs, include a thermoplastic resin and a charge-enhancing additive. The additives are a mercapto-benzothiazole salts or mercapto-benzoxazole salts. The electret webs may be a non-woven fibrous web or a film. The electret webs are suitable for use as filter media.

AROMATIC-HETEROCYCLIC RING MELT ADDITIVES

Charged polymeric webs, such as electret webs, include a thermoplastic resin and a charge-enhancing additive. The additives are substituted benzothiazole compounds or substituted benzoxazole compounds. The substituent groups may be hydroxyl, mercapto, or aromatic groups. The electret webs may be a non-woven fibrous web or a film. The electret webs are suitable for use as filter media.

In this non-woven fabric for a liquid-permeable sheet of an absorbent article, said non-woven fabric comprising a thickness direction, a planar direction, a first face, and a second face: the non-woven fabric includes thermoplastic resin fibers, and cellulosic fibers, at least a portion whereof configures a plurality of fiber masses; the non-woven fabric further comprises a plurality of spaces which are adjacent to first regions of each of the plurality of fiber masses, said first regions facing the first face; and each of the plurality of fiber masses is not bonded to the thermoplastic resin fibers.

A nonwoven fibrous web and a method of making thereof. The nonwoven fibrous web includes greater than 0% but no greater than 30 wt % of a plurality of melt-blown fibers comprised of a crystalline (co)polymer; and at least 70 wt % of a plurality of randomly-oriented staple fibers, the plurality of randomly-oriented staple fibers including: at least 60 wt % of oxidized polyacrylonitrile fibers; and from 0 to 40 wt % of reinforcing fibers having an outer surface comprised of a (co)polymer with a melting temperature of from 100° C. to 350° C.; wherein the plurality of melt-blown fibers and the plurality of randomly-oriented staple fibers are bonded together to form a cohesive non-woven fibrous web.
