Fibers for non-woven fabrics having blends of polymers with high and low melt flow rates

A spunbond non-woven fabric includes a plurality of fibers. The fibers are formed from a polymer blend that includes at least one first polymer and at least one second polymer. A melt flow rate of the at least one first polymer is greater than a melt flow rate of the at least one second polymer, and the melt flow rate of the at least one second polymer is about 9 g/10 min to less than 18 g/10 min. The blend may include a percentage by weight of the second polymer that is greater than a percentage by weight of the first polymer.

The present invention relates to a packaging material for use in an oral pouched snuff product in order to enclose a smokeless tobacco composition or non-tobacco composi¬tion. The packaging material is a saliva-permeable nonwoven comprising carded fibres, whereof 0%-95% of the carded fibres are of a first type and 5%-100% are of a second type. The fibres of the first type are cellulose-based staple fibres. The fibres of the second type are thermoplastic fibres, comprising a first component and a second component, the second component having a lower melting temperature than the first component. The packaging material is bonded by means of at least partial melting and/or softening of the second component of the fibres of the second type and has a smooth-calendered surface.

The present invention also relates to an oral pouched snuff product comprising such a packaging material.

A depth filter with excellent filtration accuracy and pressure resistance performance even for fluids containing high density and high viscosity powder fine particles. A depth filter having a base material layer, a filtration layer, and a skin layer, in that order, wherein: the substrate layer and the skin layer are layers made by a nonwoven fabric being wound and thermally fused; the filtration layer is a laminate in which at least a nonwoven fabric and a net are laminated, being wound twice or more; and the nonwoven fabric contained in the filtration layer contains a mixed-fiber nonwoven fabric containing two or more types of fibers with mutually different average fiber diameters.

CUSHION OR PAD DEVICE FORMED FROM VERTICALLY LAPPED NONWOVEN

A cushion or pad device is provided. The device comprises at least one layer of nonwoven material defining a volume with length, width, and depth dimensions, wherein the vertically lapped nonwoven material comprises at least one bulk fiber, wherein the bulk fiber comprises a thermoplastic polyester; and at least one elastomeric binder fiber. Methods of preparing the cushion or pad device are also provided.

Systems and methods of filtering particulate matter from a fluid are provided. In one exemplary embodiment, a system for filtering particulate matter from a liquid comprises a filter having a filter housing, inlet and outlet ports, and compressible filter media with synthetic fibers. Further, the filter media is disposed in the housing between the inlet and outlet ports and is operable to filter particulate matter from the liquid. Also, a pressure difference between the inlet and outlet ports with the filter media disposed in the housing is no more than four pounds per square inch differential. In addition, the system includes a pump that is operationally coupled to the filter and operable to move the liquid through the filter media with a flux rate of at least eighteen gallons per minute per square foot of the filter media while operating at less than one electrical horsepower.

A wipe comprises upper and lower melt-blown fiber webs and an intermediate wood pulp fiber web containing a hot-melt adhesive substance. Melt-blown fibers of the melt-blown fiber webs are interwoven in the wood pulp fiber web. A manufacturing method of a wipe can manufacture a water-absorbing wipe, effectively prevent the wipe from shedding fibers when in use, and effectively prevent agglomeration of short wood pulp fibers after the wipe has absorbed a liquid.

FUNCTIONAL NONWOVEN SCRIM FOR HIGH TEMPERATURE APPLICATIONS REQUIRING LOW FLAMMABILITY, SMOKE, AND TOXICITY

A nonwoven composite for high temperature applications requiring Sow flammability, smoke, and/or toxicity, including a fibrous structure having one or more nonwoven material layers including a scrim layer. The scrim is formed from inorganic fibers, at least some of which are adapted to withstand temperatures of up to about 1150° C. The scrim is formed from a wet-laying process. The composite further comprises one or more fiber matrix layers.

The invention concerns a hygiene product comprising at least one layer of a nonwoven wherein the nonwoven layer comprises man-made cellulosic fibers wherein the layer or the layers has or have a rewet value of equal to or less than 30% and a liquid strike through time of equal to or less than 6 seconds for the use in disposable hygiene products, such as diapers, feminine pads and incontinence products or in wet wipes like toilet wipes, facial wipes, cosmetic wipes, baby wipes and sanitary wipes for cleaning and disinfection.
