Polyamide nanofiber nonwovens
A nanofiber nonwoven product is disclosed which comprises a polyamide with a relative viscosity from 2 to 330, spun into nanofibers with an average diameter of less than 1000 nanometers (1 micron). In general, the inventive products are prepared by: (a) providing a polyamide composition, wherein the polyamide has a relative viscosity from 2 to 330; (b) melt spinning the polyamide composition into a plurality of nanofibers having an average fiber diameter of less than 1 micron, followed by (c) forming the nanofibers into the product.
USE OF A COMPOSITE MATERIAL AS PACKAGING MATERIAL
A packaging includes a composite material. The composite material includes a barrier layer and a backing layer. The backing layer includes a spunbonded nonwoven, arranged on at least one side of the barrier layer and bonded to the barrier layer by heat and pressure. The barrier layer includes a nonwoven containing 1 to 70 wt % melt-blown fibers and 30 to 99 wt % staple fibers, relative to a total weight of the nonwoven in each case.
COMPRESSIBLE ADJUNCT WITH CROSSING SPACER FIBERS
A staple cartridge assembly for use with a surgical stapling instrument includes a staple cartridge including a plurality of staples and a cartridge deck. The staple cartridge assembly also includes a compressible adjunct positionable against the cartridge deck, wherein the staples are deployable into tissue captured against the compressible adjunct, and wherein the compressible adjunct comprises a first biocompatible layer comprising a first portion, a second biocompatible layer comprising a second portion, and crossed spacer fibers extending between the first portion and the second portion.
PRODUCTION DEVICE FOR MELT-BLOWN NON-WOVEN FABRIC
A production device for melt-blown non-woven fabric, with which a high molecular weight polymer can be reduced in molecular weight by applying a shear force to the high molecular weight polymer without adding an additive such as a peroxide that promotes thermal decomposition reaction, and a low molecular weight polymer can be efficiently produced. The low molecular weight polymer and the melt-blown non-woven fabric are produced using a continuous high shearing device that applies a shear force to the high molecular weight polymer serving as a raw material by rotation of a screw body 37 to reduce the molecular weight of the high molecular weight polymer so as to obtain a low molecular weight polymer, and cools the low molecular weight polymer by passing the low molecular weight polymer through a passage 88 arranged in the axial direction inside the screw body 37.
WIPE AND MANUFACTURING METHOD THEREOF
A wipe and a manufacturing method are disclosed. Upper and lower layers of the wipe are melt-blown fiber webs, and an intermediate layer thereof is a wood pulp fiber web, wherein an adhesive is attached to the surfaces of the melt-blown fiber webs, and melt-blown fibers of the melt-blown fiber webs are interwoven in the wood pulp fiber web. When in use, fuzz and pilling of the melt-blown fibers on the surfaces caused by friction are prevented, and the wood pulp short fibers in the intermediate layer is also further prevented from falling out to cause “Tinting” during use.
Dimensionally-stable melt blown nonwoven fibrous structures, and methods and apparatus for making same
A process and apparatus for producing a dimensionally stable melt blown nonwoven fibrous web. The process includes forming a multiplicity of melt blown fibers by passing a molten stream including molecules of at least one thermoplastic semi-crystalline (co)polymer through at least one orifice of a melt-blowing die, subjecting at least a portion of the melt blown fibers to a controlled in-flight heat treatment operation at a temperature below a melting temperature of the at least one thermoplastic semi-crystalline (co)polymer immediately upon exiting from the at least one orifice, and collecting at least some of the melt blown fibers subjected to the controlled in-flight heat treatment operation on a collector to form a non-woven fibrous structure. The nonwoven fibrous structure exhibits a Shrinkage less than a Shrinkage measured on an identically-prepared structure including only fibers not subjected to the controlled in-flight heat treatment operation, and generally less than 15%.
