REINFORCED PAPER, METHOD OF MAKING A REINFORCED PAPER, AND ARTICLE COMPRISING A REINFORCED PAPER
A reinforced paper includes a nonwoven fibrous mat impregnated with a polyetherimide composition. The nonwoven fibrous mat includes a reinforcing fiber, a high strength toughening fiber, or a combination thereof. The polyetherimide composition includes a polyetherimide having repeating units as defined herein. A method of making a reinforced paper is also disclosed. The method includes contacting at least a portion of a nonwoven fibrous mat with a composition to form a pre-preg, and heating under conditions effective to provide the reinforced paper. Articles including the reinforced paper are also described.
TEXTILE SHEET MATERIAL
A process for producing textile fabrics by applying one or more binder compositions to fibers is provided. The binder compositions include one or more polysaccharides and one or more polymers of vinyl acetate. The polymers of vinyl acetate are based on vinyl acetate to an extent of 50% to 90% by weight based on the total weight of the polymers of vinyl acetate.
Epoxy resin imbibed polymer particles
The present invention relates to an aqueous polymer dispersion composition comprising a stable aqueous dispersion of single-phase thermoplastic polymer particles imbibed with a thermosettable compound having at least two oxirane groups. The thermoplastic polymer particles have a sufficient concentration of anti-agglomerating functional groups to stabilize the latex against agglomeration, and the thermoplastic polymer particles being a copolymerization product of a monomer mixture comprising, based on the total dry weight of the monomer mixture (a) 35 wt. % to 71 wt. % of ethyl acrylate, (b) 30 wt. % to 60 wt. % of methyl methacrylate, and (c) 5 wt. % to 10 wt. % methylol acrylamide.
Nonwoven with two-part binder system
Disclosed herein is a binder system for nonwoven fiber mats that provides desirable properties to the nonwoven mat including desirable porosity, desirable surface properties e.g., desirable wettability and/or moisture resistance, and enhanced tensile strength. The system includes a two-part binder that includes (1) a formaldehyde-free carbohydrate-based binder and (2) a formaldehyde-free hydrophobic acrylic-based hinder.
NONWOVEN FABRIC; POUCHED PRODUCT AND RELATED METHODS
The present invention provides a nonwoven fabric comprising a non-fibrous binder having certain solubility characteristics. It also provides a pouched product, the fabric and contents of which have certain solubility characteristics. Related methods are also disclosed.
Latex Bonded Textile Fiber Structure for Construction Applications
The present invention relates to a textile fiber structure comprising man-made fibers fortified by a binder comprising a polymer latex obtained from the emulsion polymerization in aqueous medium of a mixture of ethylenically unsaturated monomers comprising: (a) an aliphatic conjugated diene (b) a vinyl aromatic compound; (c) an ethylenically unsaturated silane bearing at least one silicon bonded hydrolysable group, and (d) an ethylenically unsaturated acid
and to its use in construction applications, and to the use of the above binder to fortify textile fiber structures.
AIR-CURED BATTING INSULATION
Air-cured batting includes a nonwoven web. The batting contains 75 to 97.5 wt % of fiber mixture, and 2.5 to 25 wt % of resin comprising a cross-linked copolymer of butyl acrylate and methyl methacrylate, wherein the resin is present on a first surface of the batting, and on a second surface of the batting, the second surface being parallel to the first surface, and wherein the resin is adhered to fibers of the fiber mixture, thereby forming a bonded structure, such that, by virtue of the resin, the air-cured batting has structural integrity that imparts handleability of the batting in sheet form. Articles comprising the air-cured batting and methods of making the air-cured batting are also provided.
Carboxylated Vinyl Acetate/Ethylene Copolymer Dispersions and Uses Therof
The present invention relates to preparation of heterogeneous mixtures of (carboxylated) vinyl ester/ethylene dispersions, such as vinyl acetate/ethylene (VAE) dispersions with polyamideamine-epichlorohydrin (PAE) wet strength resins having a reduced amount of halogenated organic compounds, such as less than 1500 ppm. The dispersion offers extremely low free and bound formaldehyde levels combined with wet tensile strength for use in non-woven textile and paper applications.
ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVE SHIELDING SHEET
Provided is a high-strength electromagnetic wave shielding sheet exhibiting an excellent electromagnetic wave shielding performance irrespective of the oscillation directions of millimeter waves and terahertz waves. The electromagnetic wave shielding sheet may, for example, be a sheet containing a carbon nanotube unwoven cloth that has a thickness of not larger than 1 mm, a specific resistance of not larger than 0.005 $2.Math.cm, and a longitudinal/lateral tensile strength ratio of 0.8 to 1.25; or a sheet with such carbon nanotube unwoven cloth being impregnated with a resin and/or with the resin being laminated on the carbon nanotube unwoven cloth.
Nonwoven fabric layered body, composite layered body, and cover sheet
A nonwoven fabric layered body includes a first nonwoven fabric layer including a crimped fiber (A), which is a fiber made of a thermoplastic polymer and which has an average crimp diameter of 800 ?m or less; and a hydrophilic agent.
