Door latch assembly with movable lock plate
09540842 · 2017-01-10 · ·

A latch assembly for a door comprising a bolt disposed on the door, the bolt movable between a locked position and an unlocked position. The latch assembly further includes a lock plate disposed on a door jamb, the lock plate movable between an upper position and a lower position. During operation, when the bolt is in the locked position, the bolt slideably engages the lock plate to move the lock plate from the lower position to an upper position to enable the bolt to be inserted within an opening in the lock plate to secure the door in a closed position.

Door strike having a dead latch release

An actuator-controlled strike comprising a housing disposable within a doorframe and including a cavity for a spring latch and a dead latch of a mortise-type lockset. A keeper is pivotably mounted within the chamber to engage the spring latch. A pivotably mounted kicker cooperates with the keeper. A pivotably mounted dead latch release is supported by the keeper when the spring latch is within the strike. The keeper is released by the actuator and rotates into a position to ramp the spring latch out of the strike, also allowing the dead latch release to release the dead latch into the cavity, allowing the spring latch to be ramped out of the strike. Pivoting the keeper causes the kicker to urge the spring latch onto an exit ramp on a face of the keeper. The dead latch release can be installed in a plurality of different locations in the housing.

Sliding-door system

A sliding-door system includes a sliding door, a door frame, and a locking system, wherein in a locked state, a first latch engages in an engagement notch of an anchor body locking the sliding door, and a bolt engages on the anchor body in an engagement region to prevent the anchor body from rotating about a rotational axis. An actuator moves the bolt out of the engagement region to switch the locking system from the locked state into an open state by rotating the anchor body about the rotational axis. A locking system emergency opening function is actuated by applying an emergency activation force to a first door leaf to move a lock substantially perpendicular to a surface of the first door leaf such that the engagement notch is slid out of the engagement region to enable the sliding door to open.

This invention relates to a latch arrangement (50) including a striker assembly (300), and a latch assembly (200). The striker assembly (300) includes a striker bolt (306) and a striker bolt housing (312) whereby the striker bolt (306) is movable relative to the striker housing (312) between an extended position and a retracted position. The latch assembly (200) is operable to retain the striker bolt (306) in the extended position and includes a keeper (204).
