Apparatus and Methods for Underground Structures and Construction Thereof
Described herein are apparatus, systems and methods useful in forming vertical structures.
FORMWORK FOR USE IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF ARCHED STRUCTURES AND METHOD OF CONSTRUCTING ARCHED STRUCTURES
A formwork for constructing an arched structure comprises a first end panel and a second end panel. A plurality of longitudinal members extends between the first end panel and the second end panel. The longitudinal members are arranged in an arched formation and the longitudinal members slope between the first end panel and the second end panel. The formwork may have rollers disposed along lengths of the longitudinal members.

Protective element, concrete element, and method for producing a concrete element
The invention relates to a protective element (20) for connecting to a concrete element (10) of a tunnel lining, to the concrete element (10) and to the method for producing the concrete element (10). It is an object of the invention to provide a protective element (20) for a tunnel lining, or the associated concrete element, which ensures that the protective casing of the tunnel lining is better safeguarded against corrosive gases or liquids. The solution of the invention provides that the protective element (20) is produced from an injection-moldable plastics material, that a protective portion (21, 22, 23) is connected in a single piece to a seal (30), wherein the connection is gas-tight and liquid-tight, that the protective portion (21, 22, 23) is connected in a single piece to a connecting element (24, 25, 26, 27, 28), and that the single-piece connection is produced by injection molding of the plastics material.

IMPROVEMENTS RELATING TO CONCRETE
Concrete is formed by providing a wet layer of a first concrete 4, applying a second wet layer 6 of concrete on the first layer 4 of wet concrete and setting the layers 4 and 6 to provide a composite concrete structure, wherein at least one of the layers comprises, AACM (Alkali-Activated Cementitious Material). An ionic bond 2 is formed between the two layers. The AACM layer may comprise a reinforcement structure and cathodic protection.
COUPLER DEVICE AND ASSEMBLY
A coupler device is described for joining together two adjacent members 7,17 and in particular structural members which may for example may be tunnel segments, well segments, building segments, precast concrete members, preformed panels and other items used in but not limited to the construction industry. The coupler device has an elongate body 2 carrying spaced apart first and second projecting portions 6,16, wherein each of the first and second projecting portions is configured to be received within a complementarily recessed portion 8,18 in a face of a respective member and thereby in use to join together the two respective members.
ELONGATE MEMBERS, METHODS OF THEIR CONSTRUCTION AND APPARATUS THEREFOR
The present invention relates to an elongate member and methods of its formation and assembly, the elongate member constructed of a stacked sequence of adjacent sections, the elongate member comprising, at each interface of adjacent sections, a lower seat member of an upper more of said adjacent sections, and an upper seat member of a lower more of said adjacent sections, wherein said upper and lower seat members at each interface having been match-cast as a seat member pair and seated with each other in the same relative position as the relative position the seat member pair was match-cast in.
System and method for simultaneous excavation and segment erection of TBM by thrust shell
A system and method for simultaneous excavation and segment erection of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) by Thrust shell system is an invention in tunnelling industry which will provide possibility of erection of the segmental ring while TBM is excavating and advancing forward with minimum interruption which will result in significantly increasing of the tunneling speed. The increased speed of the tunnelling will be reducing cost of the construction expressively. At this system and method, the TBM thrust cylinders will be pushing against previously installed segmental ring via combination of a thrust shell and an expandable ring while a new segmental ring is being built by TBM's segment erector within the Thrust shell's provided inner space.
