METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR DEPLOYMENT OF A COMMUNICATION LINE ONTO A SURFACE SUCH AS A ROADWAY OR PATHWAY
20220155548 · 2022-05-19 · ·

A method for adhering a tubular body onto a surface that includes smoothing a portion of the surface to create a smoothed segment of the surface and applying a tubular body directly onto the smoothed segment of the surface after the smoothing of the portion of the surface. The surface at the smoothed segment is smoother than the remainder of the surface. The method further includes applying an uncured protectant onto the tubular body while the tubular body is on the smoothed segment of the surface and curing the uncured protectant into a cured protectant while the uncured protectant is on the tubular body on the smoothed segment of the surface. The cured protectant protectively encases and adheres the tubular body to the surface.

MICROTRENCHING BLADES WITH REPLACEABLE CUTTERS

A replaceable tooth assembly. A number of tooth assemblies are provided round the periphery of a microtrenching blade. The assemblies include a cartridge, usually welded to the periphery of the microtrenching blade, and a tooth, which has a projection or flange shaped to fit within a cavity formed in the cartridge. The cartridge and projection each have a transverse hole formed in them, which, when aligned, form a continuous passage for placement of a removable pin which is used to join the cartridge to the tooth body. The cartridge may also have a more radially-aligned channel which intersects the cavity, which a rubber shim may be placed in. Such a shim reduces the relative vibration between the tooth and cartridge, improving life and reducing wear.

CABLE PLOW ATTACHMENT
20230261448 · 2023-08-17 ·

A cable plow attachment can simultaneously install multiple cables at different depths, varying spacing, and in different configurations based on what construction plans may specify. The cable plow attachment can comprise a frame configured to removably attach to and extend from a cable plow. The frame defines a plurality of slots each configured to removably receive one or more shanks. The one or more shanks can include a first end configured to direct a cable through at least one boot coupled to the shank and a second end configured to excavate and position the cable. The second end has an excavation side facing the direction of forward movement of the cable plow and includes one or more of blades, teeth, and lift plates to dig a groove, and an installation side opposite the excavation side that includes an outlet configured to position the cable in the groove.

Ground Level Primary Electric Distribution System
20230307899 · 2023-09-28 ·

A ground level primary electrical distribution system deploys terrain mounted or essentially terrain flush pipes that protect suppress ignition from fires that may occur if components fail within the pipes. The pipes can be deployed in remote and rugged terrain where overhead power lines poses fire risks from wind damage and it is impractical and disruptive to bury the electricity conducting cable or deployed along roadways or field at ground level or essentially flush with the ground to avoid excavation yet avoid the use of overhead power lines that can be subject to damage from high wind. The pipes can follow the terrain between junctions over rigid segments formed by a plurality of end-to-end coupled enclosures, while the conductors are protected within jacketing or flow through flexible insulating and isolating conduits within the more rigid pipes.

CABLE PLOW SYSTEM
20220010524 · 2022-01-13 ·

The invention relates to a cable plow system, comprising a cable plow for introducing at least one line into the ground and a chassis, wherein the cable plow comprises at least one laying unit, wherein the or each laying unit has an attachment suitable for engaging the ground to form a trench in the soil and a line routing for laying the line into the trench formed or formable by the attachment, wherein the chassis comprises a driver's cab and front wheels and rear wheels, wherein the front wheels and/or the rear wheels are attached in each case to the driver's cab by means of a support. The invention is characterized in that the cable plow system has a coupling device, the chassis and the cable plow being interchangeably connectable or connected to one another by means of the coupling device.

Laying machine and a blade assembly

The present invention relates to a laying machine for laying at least one flexible casing or tube, cable or wire including: a blade arrangement for making a trench in the ground, a consolidation and laying means being arranged behind the blade arrangement, for clearing and safe-guarding the trench from collapsing while laying at least one flexible casing or tube, cable or wire into the trench. A blade assembly comprising compartments for cooling fluid and air.

Roadway access hole cutter having a utility avoidance safety device, method of cutting a hole in a roadway, method of cutting a horizontal hole under a roadway

A method of cutting a microtrench in which the buried utility is exposed by opening an access hole in a roadway above the buried utility using a roadway access hole drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility. Also provided is a method of drilling a substantially horizontal hole under a roadway using a horizontal drill that is controlled by a computer system connected to an under-roadway detection unit that detects a buried utility and stops movement or changes direction of the drill to avoid damaging the buried utility.
