Methodology of Instantaneous Hot Water Production in Suboptimal Operations

Systems and methods are directed to water heater systems, including combi boilers and instantaneous water heaters, for initiating back up operations, e.g., for continuous flow and hot water delivery, in response to errors or interruptions to normal operations. Embodiments of the present invention can include, a plurality of heat exchangers, including a domestic hot water outlet, temperature sensors sensing water temperature at one or more locations within the water heater system, a control system. The control system can be configured to at least: monitor the water temperature measured by the first temperature sensor, identify an abnormality in monitoring the water temperature, initiate am alternative operation to sense water temperature via an alternate pathway and heat water to a set point value during the abnormality, and deliver water heated to the set point value during the abnormality.

Non-potable, utility water is circulated by a pump in a closed loop. The utility water is heated by a heat pump. Heat exchange from the utility water heats domestic hot water on demand, eliminating or reducing the need for domestic hot water storage tanks and storage of large quantities of water. In the present invention, fluctuations in condenser water temperature are dampened internally in a condenser water buffer and a control system.

Location based temperature limit control for a water heater

A method of controlling a temperature of water delivered by a water heating system, includes providing communication device which is adapted to receive a communication from at least one mobile device, the communication device being located so as to determine when the at least one mobile device is within a predefined zone in which is located a pre-selected water access point. In response to a determination that the at least one mobile device is within the predefined zone, enabling a user selecting a temperature setting of the where the water heating system. The selection is wirelessly communicated to a receiver which is in communication with the water heating system.

Hot water recirculation system

A hot water recirculation system for a house or other building causes water to be recirculated to a water heater for reheating until the water is above a set-point temperature at which time the heated water is made available for use at a faucet or other hot water plumbing fixture. Recirculation of hot water takes place only when there is demand for hot water at a hot water plumbing fixture. A flow switching module for use in the hot water recirculation system can selectively direct water supplied to the flow switching module from a water heater either to a hot water plumbing fixture or to return piping for returning the water to the water heater. The flow switching module may be operated manually, automatically, or semi-automatically.

Orientation-based HVAC control

Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a control system for controlling an HVAC device where the control system includes a temperature sensor that provides a signal indicative of a temperature associated with the HVAC device, an orientation sensor that provides a signal indicative of an operating orientation of the HVAC device, and control circuitry that receives the temperature signal and the orientation signal from the orientation sensor. The control circuitry selects an operating thermal control set point from a plurality of stored thermal control set points based at least in part on an orientation signal, determines a temperature sensor input based on the temperature signal and compares the temperature sensor input to the operating thermal control set point, and operates the HVAC device based at least in part on that comparison.

Sealing assembly with improved gasket

Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an assembly for sealing a rigid pipe, a furnace, and a gasket for use in an HVAC fluid conduit. Some embodiments include a furnace with an inducer blower drawing combustion air through the furnace, and the assembly is used to connect one or more flue conduit(s) and an exhaust pipe. In one embodiment, the gasket used in the assembly includes a tubular body, at least a portion of which is engaged along an inner surface of the fluid conduit, a rim extending outwardly from a tubular body end, and two or more ears extending from the rim, wherein the ears are spaced apart from the tubular body and extend in substantially the same direction as the tubular body. The ears further include a first rib located proximate a distal end of the ear.

A coaxial gas valve assembly includes a gas inlet, a gas outlet, a valve tube, and a shaft member. A main valve is movable between a closed position and an open position (broadly, openable and closable). A main spring is positioned to resiliently bias the main valve in its closed position. A redundant valve is movable between a closed position and an open position (broadly, openable and closable). A redundant spring is positioned to resiliently bias the redundant valve in its closed position. A solenoid coil is positioned to electromagnetically move the shaft member within the valve tube. A balance diaphragm is connected to the valve tube. A gas path through at least the valve tube allows gas flow from a first side of the balance diaphragm to a second side of the balance diaphragm to reduce a pressure difference between the first and second sides of the balance diaphragm.

TEMPERATURE CONTROL DEVICE

Temperature control device (1) has a hot water inlet (12), a cold water inlet (14) and an outlet (16) for tempered water. A diffuser (18) is provided in the device (1) to disrupt the flow of hot water after it enters the device (1). The disrupted hot water emerges from the diffuser (18) into a chamber (20) in which it is melded with cold water that is able to enter the chamber (20) from the inlet (14) when a piston (22) is spaced from a seat (24). The melded hot and cold water result in tempered water that is discharged from the outlet (16). A temperature sensitive device (26) is provided, which is responsive to changes in ambient temperature. A temperature setting mechanism (52) is provided which is operatively associated with the temperature sensitive device (26) and permits the maximum temperature of the discharged tempered water to be adjusted.

RECREATIONAL VEHICLE HEATING SYSTEM

A recreational vehicle heating system comprises: a heating medium heater, a hot water supply heat exchanger, a heating medium circuit including a pump and a waste heat exchanger, and a heating medium tank compartmented by vertical partitions configured to allow for the heating medium flow over the partitions from one compartment to another in a sequential order, the hot water supply heat exchanger being arranged in one of the tank compartments, while the other tank compartments are part of heating medium circuits each including a pump and a waste heat exchanger. The first tank compartment in said sequential order is connected, via a conduit, to the heating medium heater, while the last tank compartment in said sequential order is configured to allow for the heating medium flow over to the conduit for the heating medium transfer by a pump via the heater to the first compartment.
