The method includes the steps of: activating an on-board diagnostic function in the on-board diagnostic function module; supplying a first signal profile (S1) of an operating value (CV) of the operating element to an analysis module; the analysis module analyzing the first signal profile (S1) of the operating value (CV); activating a filtering module in the event of a positive analysis result; and the filtering module filtering the first signal profile (S1) of the operating value (CV) with selected damping parameters (DP) upon activation of the filtering module in order to obtain a filtered second signal profile (S2) of the operating element.
METHOD FOR ESTIMATING THE EFFICIENCY LOSS OF A TURBOCHARGER FOR AN ENGINE
The present disclosure relates to improvements in turbocharger efficiency and more particularly to a method and system for estimating the efficiency loss of a turbocharger. The method comprises the steps of monitoring a plurality of operating parameters and determining a compressor exit temperature according to a first calibration map based on these operating parameters. An estimate of instantaneous turbocharger efficiency loss according to a second calibration map is then determined, based on the compressor exit temperature. The instantaneous turbocharger efficiency loss is used to determine an estimate of cumulative turbocharger efficiency loss during engine service. The estimate of cumulative turbocharger efficiency loss is compared with a first predetermined efficiency loss threshold and a first signal is generated if the first predetermined efficiency loss threshold is exceeded.

The heating device is electrically connected via a first electrical line and a second electrical line to a control device for electrically controlling the heating device. The heating device includes a measuring line electrically connected between the control device and the first electrical line for controlling the temperature-dependent resistance of the heating section. The method may include: determining a measurement voltage dropped between the first electrical line and the measuring line; determining a compensation voltage on the basis of a predetermined reference voltage and the determined measurement voltage; and determining the state parameter of the exhaust gas sensor by assigning the determined compensation voltage to the state parameter.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DIAGNOSING AT LEAST ONE EXHAUST GAS SENSOR OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE DISPOSED IN AN EXHAUST DUCT
Method for diagnosing at least one exhaust gas sensor (22;24;26) of an internal combustion engine (10) disposed in an exhaust duct (21), where ambient air (12) is actively introduced into the exhaust duct (21) by means of a device (27), when an operating state is present in which the internal combustion engine (10) does not produce an exhaust gas mass flow, and the diagnosis of the at least one exhaust gas sensor (22;24;26) disposed in the exhaust duct (21) is subsequently carried out.
Engine
An engine includes a cylinder internal pressure sensor, a torque sensor, and an engine control device. The cylinder internal pressure sensor detects a cylinder internal pressure. The torque sensor detects an engine load. The engine control device receives a detection result of the cylinder internal pressure sensor and a detection result of the torque sensor. If the load detected by the torque sensor is zero (no load) and the cylinder internal pressure obtained from the detection result of the cylinder internal pressure sensor is greater than or equal to a threshold, the engine control device determines that an abnormality occurs in detection by the torque sensor.
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR DIAGNOSING A HEATING ELEMENT OF AN EXHAUST GAS SENSOR OF AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
A method for diagnosing a heating element of an exhaust gas sensor of an internal combustion engine. The exhaust gas sensor includes a temperature measurement device. A modeled temperature at the point of the exhaust gas sensor is continuously ascertained with the aid of a temperature model. The temperature of the exhaust gas sensor is increased by a heating process. The diagnosis of the heating element of the exhaust gas sensor is provided as the result an enable condition. Upon enablement of the diagnosis, a temperature difference between the modeled temperature of the exhaust gas sensor and the measured temperature of the exhaust gas sensor are ascertained. The heating element of the exhaust gas sensor is recognized as defective when the ascertained temperature difference exceeds a predefinable temperature threshold value.
Engine Control Device and Engine Control Method
The present invention provides an engine control device that sets a cam signal read value according to a cam signal output from a cam angle sensor, in a front-rear determination position; if the cam signal read value is alternately changed between 1 (LOW) and 2 (HIGH) in the front-rear determination position, sets the cam signal read value to the cam signal expected value; if the cam signal read value is not alternately changed between 1 (LOW) and 2 (HIGH), inverts the cam signal expected value in the control cycle of the previous time, and sets the resultant cam signal expected value; then, when the cam signal read value and the cam signal expected value are equal to each other, distinguishes the cylinders by using the cam signal read value; and when the cam signal read value and the cam signal expected value are different from each other, distinguishes the cylinders by using the cam signal expected value.
