Eyewear with detection system
Eyewear having monitoring capability, such as for radiation or motion, is disclosed. Radiation, such as ultraviolet (UV) radiation, infrared (IR) radiation or light, can be measured by a detector. The measured radiation can then be used in providing radiation-related information to a user of the eyewear. Motion can be measure by a detector, and the measured motion can be used to determine whether the eyewear is being worn.
Electronic device for measuring illuminance, and operating method therefor
Various embodiments of the present invention relate to: an electronic device capable of measuring illuminance by using an optical sensor and providing information on the measured illuminance to a user; and an operating method therefor. The electronic device according to various embodiments of the present invention comprises: a light emitting unit; a sensor having a light receiving unit; and a processor, wherein the processor is set so as to: sense a first illuminance outside the electronic device by using the sensor; emit light by using the light emitting unit when the first illuminance belongs to a predetermined range; confirm whether an external object is nearby by using the sensor based on at least the light emitted using the light emitting unit; determine the first illuminance as the illuminance outside the electronic device when the external object is not nearby; and estimate a second illuminance corresponding to the first illuminance by using a selected method based on at least context information related to the electronic device when the external object is nearby.
Device and method for subjecting a flying insect to lethal radiation
A device for subjecting a flying insect to lethal radiation. The device has a measurement beam source for producing a measurement beam, a deflection unit for deflecting the measurement beam, a lethal radiation source for producing a lethal beam and a measurement beam detector. The measurement detector has a photodetector element, the deflection unit and the measurement beam detector are arranged and cooperate such that the measurement beam sweeps the detector surface of the measurement beam detector. The device includes an evaluation unit connected to the measurement detector and the lethal light source to determine an attenuation time period of an attenuation of the measurement beam between the deflection unit and the detector surface and to control the lethal light source depending on said attenuation time to emit a lethal beam impulse. A method for subjecting a flying insect to lethal radiation is also provided.
HYBRID FIBER FOR DETECTION OF UV LIGHT
A hybrid fiber for detection of UV light is described. The hybrid fiber includes a conductor, a first layer, a photoactive layer, a second layer, and a transparent electrode. The conductor includes a conductive material. The first layer includes a first material deposited onto the conductor. The first material is configured to transport holes and block electrons. The photoactive layer includes a photoactive material coating the first layer. The photoactive material includes a first submaterial and a second submaterial. The second layer includes a second material deposited onto the photoactive layer. The second material is configured to block holes and transport electrons. The transparent electrode includes a transparent electrode material deposited onto the second layer.
Real time ultraviolet light reflectance imaging
A method of monitoring ultraviolet radiation reflectance is provided for activating an ultraviolet radiation reflectance digital sensor and display monitor; capturing ultraviolet radiation reflectance passing through a lens onto the digital senor; analyzing ultraviolet radiation reflectance against a preloaded and predetermined color palate; generating a video image; and outputting the video image to the display monitor. A device is also provided for an ultraviolet radiation reflectance monitoring application which receives data from an ultraviolet radiation sensitive digital imaging plate installed on the device; wherein the application processes data received from the digital imaging plate and generates an output image of ultraviolet radiation reflectance to a video monitor communicatively connected to the device.
ULTRAVIOLET FLAME DETECTOR
An ultraviolet flame detector (100) includes a housing (102) having an opening (103) at a first end (101a) of the housing (102), and a window structure (104) arranged to cover the opening (103) of the housing (102). A photocathode (106) is arranged to a second end (101b) of the housing (102) so that the photocathode (106) is facing inside the housing (102). An anode wire (108) is arranged between the window structure (104) and the photocathode (106). The anode wire (108) is configured to travel transversally across the housing (102). The ultraviolet flame detector (102) is filled with a gas.
Indicator
A marker is arranged to indicate the presence of ultraviolet radiation. The marker includes at least an emitting layer having a fluorescent material arranged to emit visible light in a first range of wavelengths in response to excitation by ultraviolet radiation in a second range of wavelengths. The emission of visible light is reversible, and the marker is reusable. The marker may be a warning sign, and may be adhered to a surface or incorporated into a freestanding portable apparatus.
Semiconductor film and phototube light detector
A light detection system is provided for association with a light source. The light detection system includes a light detector and circuitry. The light detector includes semiconductor film and phototube devices and is disposed with at least one line-of-sight (LOS) to the light source. The circuitry is coupled to the light detector and the light detector and the circuitry are configured to cooperatively identify a presence and a characteristic of a light emission event at the light source.
Safe UV-C dosimeter
A meter for measuring UV light having wavelengths, preferably between 205 nm and 237 nm. The meter includes at least one UV sensitive photo diode adapted for detecting the wavelengths of UV light between a lower end and an upper end; a first filter that blocks the UV light having wavelengths below 237 nm down to at least the lower end that the UV sensitive photo diode can detect; a second filter that blocks the UV light having wavelengths above 230 nm up to at least 205 nm; at least one amplifier for amplifying a signal from the UV sensitive photo diode; an analog to digital converter; a microprocessor; a battery in electrical communication with the microprocessor. The microprocessor preferably being in communication with the amplifier and the analog to digital converter. The microprocessor provides a result for the UV light that the UV sensitive photo diode is exposed to.
SMART UV C FIXTURE WITH IoT FEATURES
An excimer bulb assembly including an excimer bulb and a pass filter such that the excimer bulb assembly does not emit substantial UV radiation in wavelengths longer than 231 nm, 232 nm, 233 nm, 234 nm or 235 nm. The wavelengths are measured at an incident angle of zero (0) degrees to the filter plane. The pass filter is preferably constructed of a plurality of layers of hafnium oxide, and most preferably constructed of less than seventy five (75) layers of hafnium oxide. The excimer bulb, pass filter, and two electrical connectors may be adapted to form a cartridge which may be adapted to swivel along its main axis. The cartridge may further include a smart chip. The smart chip may retain and store information regarding the assembly and preferably retains hours of use of the excimer bulb.
