The electric power measuring system may include a first measuring instrument for measuring and detecting a current and a zero-cross point from a distribution line and for generating and outputting current information of the distribution line from the current and the zero-cross point, and a second measuring instrument for computing electric power information of the distribution line according to a voltage thereof and the current information output from the first measuring instrument.

FAULT ISOLATION AND SERVICE RESTORATION IN AN ELECTRIC GRID

Fault isolation and service restoration in an electrical grid are provided. An approach for receiving a notification message including a state of an electrical component on an electrical grid, and determining, by a computing system, a command message including at least one action to take in response to the state of the electrical component, is described. The approach further includes sending the command message to at least one of the electrical component and other electrical components on the electrical grid.

A sensor for inductively measuring the current in a conductor flowing through a recess in a printed circuit board. Wire loops on the printed circuit board function as the inductive current sensor. Combined with a voltage measurement, the energy being dissipated in the conductor's load circuit can be determined and transmitted wirelessly. Control circuits can be integrated with the metering hardware to enable the remote modulation of the load's power. The inductive sensor(s) can be used to track differences between the load's supply and return currents. If a fault is detected, the circuit can be broken for safety, serving a ground fault circuit interruption (GFCI) purpose.

A power generation control apparatus (14) includes a solar cell controller (18) and a range determinator (20). The solar cell controller (18), while changing at least one of an operation current and an operation voltage serving as driving variables within a first range, calculates actual power generated by a solar cell (13). The solar cell controller (18) controls the solar cell (13) to generate power by using a driving variable that maximizes the generated power within the first range. The range determinator (20), based on maximum generated power and at least one of a rated PV curve or an approximation line of the rated PV curve and a rated PI curve or an approximation line of the rated PI curve, updates the first range.

Embodiments generally relate to a method for allowing power supplied through a cable to be determined. The method comprises receiving magnetic field data, the magnetic field data relating to a magnetic field generated by the cable, receiving reference data, the reference data relating to a current supplied to one or more monitored loads powered through the cable; based on the received magnetic field data and reference data, determining at least one parameter of a function that relates the magnetic field generated by the cable to the power supplied through a cable; and making available the at least one parameter, so that a power supplied by the cable can be determined based on the at least one parameter and a magnetic field value. The one or more monitored loads are a subset of all the loads powered through the cable.
