Method and device for position determination
A method for the determining a position of at least one measurement object equipped with a mobile station having a receiver includes employing at least four reference objects having a base station and a transmitter, wherein a first reference object of the at least four reference objects has a mobile station with a receiver and simultaneously acts as a measurement object. The base station and the mobile station are structurally combined. The reference objects initially have a known position that can change. The transmitters of the base stations transmit signals and the mobile stations receive signals. The method additionally includes emitting, by at least two transmitters of base stations, periodic signals of different frequencies at mutually defined time intervals, wherein these frequencies are closely adjacent.
NAVIGATION AND POSITIONING SYSTEM USING RADIO BEAM
Methods and systems for wireless communication are provided. In one example, a method comprises: receiving, by a mobile device, a radio beam, the radio beam being a directional beam that propagates along an angle of departure with respect to an antenna that transmits the radio beam; identifying, by the mobile device, at least one of: the radio beam or a base station that operates the antenna; determining, by the mobile device, a position of the mobile device based on identifying at least one of the radio beam or the antenna of the base station; and outputting, by the mobile device, the position of the mobile device.
Method and apparatus for low frequency localization of surrounding vehicles
A system includes a first-vehicle processor configured to receive a signal broadcast from a second vehicle. The processor is also configured to determine a distance between a first transceiver, receiving the signal, and a second transceiver, transmitting the signal. The processor is further configured to determine second vehicle dimensions. Also, the processor is configured to digitally map a second vehicle perimeter around a second transceiver location, determined based on the distance and alert a first vehicle driver of a likely overlap condition of the second vehicle perimeter and a first vehicle perimeter.
Position determination device for terminal
A position determination device determines the position of a terminal. A signal of a sensor attached to one or both of a beacon and a terminal is sampled, so that a signal of the beacon may be transmitted and received only when the beacon or the terminal has moved. A plurality of beacons sequentially transmit beacon signals to determine the terminal position by determining a distance between the respective beacons and the terminal based on a time to receive the beacons. The device includes a beacon for transmitting a beacon signal; a terminal for receiving the beacon signal; and a first sensor attached to the terminal to sense movement of the terminal and to output a first sensing signal indicative of the sensed movement. The terminal has a reception mode for receiving the beacon signal and turns on/off the reception mode based on the first sensing signal.
Enhanced LORAN system generating correction factors based upon satellite-derived data and related methods
An enhanced Long Range Navigation (eLORAN) system may include an eLORAN controller configured to obtain satellite-derived conductivity data and satellite-derived temperature data for different geographical positions and generate eLORAN correction factors based thereon. The eLORAN system may also include eLORAN transmitter stations. The eLORAN system may also include an eLORAN receiver device that may include an eLORAN receive antenna and an eLORAN receiver coupled to the eLORAN receive antenna and configured to receive the eLORAN correction factors. The eLORAN receiver device may also include a controller coupled to the eLORAN receiver. The controller may be configured to cooperate with the eLORAN transmitter stations to determine an eLORAN receiver position corrected based upon the eLORAN correction factors.
Polarized radio frequency (RF) angular orientation sensor with integrated communication link
A system including a polarized radio frequency (RF) scanning reference source and one or more cavity sensor receivers. The system uses a sensor processor to apply Fourier integration to extract a fundamental frequency and, at least, a fundamental frequency and two predetermined harmonics from the received output of the one or more cavity sensor receivers in determining a reference time of the reference clock.
DOPPLER GROUP RADAR, GROUP SONAR AND GROUP SENSOR
In many applications such as automobiles on busy highways, if a lot of vehicles on road are equipped with Doppler radars to help improve driving safety, no matter human-driven or auto-driven, if the radars use same frequency band, avoiding interference between them is a hard task. Assigning distinct frequencies is one of the solutions, however not only it wastes expensive spectrum resource, but also the task itself to dynamically assign frequency to vehicles randomly come together becomes a hard one to do. The disclosed invention of Doppler group radar will allow radar devices to work together using shared frequency band without interfering one another, without sacrificing performance, and without much increase in costs.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR PROVIDING WIRELESS-BEACON-RELATED SERVICES
In some embodiments, wireless connection information for wireless devices may be received. Based on the wireless connection information, one or more entries stored in a database may be updated. One or more instructions to provide connection information to a second device may be received via a first device of a user. Based on the instructions and the entries, first wireless connection information for a first wireless beacon device may be provided to the second device. In some embodiments, the first wireless connection information may include security information that enables the second user device to connect to the first wireless beacon device. In some embodiments, the first wireless beacon device may be selected from a set of devices based on a proximity of the first wireless beacon device to a location of the second device.

There is provided mechanisms for providing location information in a communications network. A method is performed by a first device. The first device supports positioning of other devices in the communications network. The method comprises acquiring positioning reference signal configuration from a radio network node in the communications network. The method comprises acquiring location information from a local positioning entity. The method comprises providing the location information to at least one of a radio network node and a second device in the communications network. The method comprises transmitting a positioning reference signal according to the positioning reference signal configuration.

The disclosure includes implementations for determining a position of a vehicle using millimeter wave narrow beamforming. A method may include receiving a set of training packets that each uniquely identify a position on a portion of a roadway where the vehicle is located. Each of the training packets included in the set may be associated with only one of the millimeter wave narrow beams. The method may include identifying a training packet included in the set of training packets that has a highest receive power level among the set of training packets. The method may include determining the position uniquely identified by the training packet having the highest receive power level.
