A method is disclosed that includes associating an identifying information indicative of an item to be tracked from a first device to a second device. The method also includes assigning a master/slave information indicative of a responsibility that the first device and/or the second device is in charge of tracking the item from the first device to the second device. The method further includes determining a position estimate indicative of a position of the item to be tracked based at least partially on the identifying information and the master/slave information. The first device is directly related to the item to be tracked, and the second device is not directly to the item to be tracked. An apparatus, a tangible computer-readable medium and a system are also disclosed.

A Light Detection And Ranging (LiDAR) system may include: a transmitter configured to output pulse laser; a reflecting mirror comprising two or more reflecting surfaces to reflect the pulse laser; a driver configured to rotate the reflecting mirror; a path control mirror configured to reflect the pulse laser to the reflecting surfaces of the reflecting mirror to form an optical path of the pulse laser; and a receiver configured to receive the light reflected through the reflecting mirror, and convert the received light into an electrical signal, wherein the reflecting mirror comprises: a first reflecting surface; and a second reflecting surface, wherein the first and second reflecting surfaces are connected to each other at one point, the first reflecting surface and the second reflecting surface have different tilt angles from each other, and the first reflecting surface is tilted in the opposite direction of the second reflecting surface.

Bidirectional positioning reference signal measurement exchange in millimeter wave-based round trip time positioning

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A device may receive a directional positioning reference signal over one or more beams from another device. The device may transmit a broadcast positioning reference signal in response to receipt of the directional positioning reference signal. The device may receive, from the other device, a report including timing and directionality associated with transmission of the directional positioning reference signal. The report may also include timing and directionality associated with receipt of the broadcast positioning reference signal at the other device. Responsive to receipt of the report, the device may transmit beam specific measurement information associated with the one or more beams to the other device. The device may communicate with the other device using a beam of the one or more beams based at least on the report and the beam specific measurement information.

A method, apparatus and computer readable storage medium are provided for reconfiguring a radio positioning support system. In a method, one or more observation reports are received. Each observation report is associated with a respective radio positioning support device of a radio positioning support system. Each observation report contains an indication for a number of radio positioning support devices and/or for each radio positioning support device from which a radio positioning support signal is observable at a position of said respective radio positioning support device. The method also determines, based on said observation reports, whether a predetermined radio positioning support criterion is met by said radio positioning support system. If it is determined that the predetermined radio positioning support criterion is not met by the radio positioning support system, the method at least partially reconfigures and/or causes at least partially reconfiguration of the radio positioning support system.

AoA/AoD calculations in multipath fading environments

A receiver is disclosed. The receiver includes one or more antennas receiving signals from a transmitter including one or more antennas, and at least one RF chain generating digital samples based on the received signals. Either A) the signals are transmitted by a single antenna of the transmitter and are received by multiple antennas of the receiver, or B) the signals are transmitted by multiple antennas of the transmitter and are received by a single antenna of the receiver. The receiver also includes a controller determining a plurality of groups of digital samples to use for calculating estimates of an AoA or AoD of the received signals, calculate estimates of AoA or AoD based on the groups of digital samples, select a subset of the estimates, and calculate a measured AoA or AoD based on the selected subset of estimates.

Reconfiguration of a radio positioning support system

A method, apparatus and computer readable storage medium are provided for reconfiguring a radio positioning support system. In a method, one or more observation reports are received. Each observation report is associated with a respective radio positioning support device of a radio positioning support system. Each observation report contains an indication for a number of radio positioning support devices and/or for each radio positioning support device from which a radio positioning support signal is observable at a position of said respective radio positioning support device. The method also determines, based on said observation reports, whether a predetermined radio positioning support criterion is met by said radio positioning support system. If it is determined that the predetermined radio positioning support criterion is not met by the radio positioning support system, the method at least partially reconfigures and/or causes at least partially reconfiguration of the radio positioning support system.

The method comprises transmitting a position-determining signal from the mobile radio station to the plurality of stationary radio stations. The position-determining signal is received and a position signal is transmitted from the plurality of stationary radio stations to the mobile radio station. Additional data is appended to at least one of the position-determining signal and the position signal and is evaluated. A current vehicle position is then determined from at least three received position signals.

The position-determining signal is received and a position signal is transmitted from the plurality of stationary radio stations to the mobile radio station. Additional data is appended to at least one of the position-determining signal and the position signal and is evaluated. A current vehicle position is then determined from at least three received position signals.
