A method of wireless communication at a UE is disclosed herein. The UE obtains, via an antenna of the UE, a first indication of a first measurement of at least one RF signal at a first time instance. The UE obtains, via the antenna, a second indication of a second measurement of the at least one RF signal at a second time instance. The UE calculates a distance traveled by the UE between the first time instance and the second time instance. The UE calculates a DOA of the at least one RF signal based on the first measurement, the second measurement, and the distance traveled by the UE between the first time instance and the second time instance. The UE outputs a third indication of the calculated DoA of the at least one RF signal.

A wireless communication device includes: a plurality of subarrays each including a plurality of antenna elements and an analog circuit configured to perform a given analog process on signals to be transmitted from or received by the antenna elements; and a processor that is connected to the subarrays. The processor executes a process including: estimating direction of arrivals from which signals transmitted from a plurality of terminals come; calculating maps based on trigonometric functions of angles representing the estimated direction of arrivals; generating a plurality of groups to which the terminals belong based on the calculated maps; assigning, to each of the groups, a combination of subarrays to generate directional beams that do not interfere with each other; and determining weighting coefficients to generate directional beams in directions of the terminals which belongs to each group by using the combination of subarrays assigned.

Systems and methods for joint angle-frequency determination

A system for data acquisition and processing includes a selector for obtaining samples from one or more sensors, each of which is configured to collect a sample during one or more sampling intervals forming a dwell period. The selector is configured to obtain only a subset of samples of a complete set of samples that can be collected during a dwell period. A solver is configured to solve an underdetermined system based on the collected samples and a mapping relation/phase function, to jointly determine one or more angles and one or more frequencies of transmissions received by the one or more sensors.

Partially synchronized multilateration or trilateration method and system for positional finding using RF

Systems and methods for determining a location of user equipment (UE) in a wireless system can comprise receiving reference signals via a location management unit (LMU) having two or more co-located channels, wherein the two or more co-located channels are tightly synchronized with each other and utilizing the received reference signals to calculate a location of the UE. Some systems may include multichannel synchronization with a standard deviation of less than or equal 10 ns. Some systems may include two LMUs, with each LMU having internal synchronization, or one LMU with tightly synchronized signals.

An autonomous system with no Customer Network Investment is described, wherein the system is configurable to operate on in a band in addition to the LTE band. Such system allows the definition of hybrid operations to accommodate the positioning reference signals (PRS) of LTE and already existing reference signals. The system can operate with PRS, with other reference signals such as cell-specific reference signals (CRS), or with both signal types. As such, the system provides the advantage of allowing network operator(s) to dynamically choose between modes of operation depending on circumstances, such as network throughput and compatibility.
