The disclosure relates to a method for requesting and granting priority between a host vehicle and other vehicles, and to a system which implements the method. The host vehicle, through the use of on-board vehicle sensors, detects and identifies an impeding vehicle which interferes with the host vehicle's path. The host vehicle transmits a priority request to the impeding vehicle. The priority request includes a remuneration offer. The impeding vehicle evaluates the priority request, including the sufficiency of the host vehicle's remuneration offer, and grants or denies the host vehicle's priority request. If granted, the impeding vehicle modifies its path to be less impeding to the host vehicle, for example by assuming a cooperative path that lets the host vehicle pass the impeding vehicle.

Method and device for sound source localization

A method and an apparatus for locating a sound source are provided. The method includes: obtaining M channels of audio signals of a preset format by microphone arrays located in different planes (S100); preprocessing the M channels of audio signals of the preset format, and projecting them onto the same plane, so as to obtain N channels of audio signals, where MN (S200); performing a time-frequency transformation on each of the N channels of audio signals, so as to obtain frequency domain signals of the N channels of audio signals (S300); further calculating a covariance matrix of the frequency domain signals and performing a smoothing process (S400); performing an eigenvalue decomposition of the smoothed covariance matrix (S500); estimating the sound source direction according to an eigenvector corresponding to the maximum eigenvalue, so as to obtain a sound source orientation parameter (S600).

OBJECT SOUND DETECTION

A vehicle system includes a processor and a memory. The memory stores instructions executable by the processor to identify an area of interest from a plurality of areas on a map, to determine that a detected sound is received in a vehicle audio sensor upon determining that a source of the sound is within the area of interest and not another area in the plurality of areas, and to operate the vehicle based at least in part on the detected sound.

Location determination using acoustic models

Systems and methods of estimating a location of a mobile computing device are provided. For instance, acoustic signals can be received from one or more transmitting devices associated with a real-time locating system. A set of peaks can be selected from the received acoustic signals. A first set of transmitter locations can be assigned to the selected set of peaks. The first set of transmitter locations can be specified by an acoustic model specifying a plurality of transmitter locations within an acoustic environment in which the one or more transmitting devices are located. A first model path trace associated with the first set of transmitter locations can be compared to the received acoustic signals. A location of the mobile computing device can be estimated based at least in part on the comparison.
