CALIBRATION METHOD, DATA PROCESSING APPARATUS, NON-TRANSITORY COMPUTER-READABLE STORAGE MEDIUM FOR STORING CALIBRATION PROGRAM
A calibration method implemented by a computer, includes: measuring, with a laser ranging sensor, markers attached to at least two predetermined positions of a bed portion of a trampoline and calculating coordinates of the markers in a first coordinate system with a position of the laser ranging sensor being an origin; and calculating a conversion parameter to convert coordinates of respective positions of the first coordinate system into coordinates of respective positions of a second coordinate system with a center position of the bed portion being an origin based on a relationship between the calculated coordinates of the markers and the at least two predetermined positions of the bed portion.
Method and system for displaying an area
A method for displaying an area on a display device, such as a graphical user interface (GUI), by displaying a front view of the area generated from front view data and a top view of the area generated from top view data according to a first line-of-sight; processing an interaction between an operator and one of the front view and the top view of the GUI; and displaying on the same display device an updated front view of the area and an updated top view of the area, wherein the updated front view and the updated top view are generated from the front view data and top view data according to a second line-of-sight, and wherein the first line-of-sight and the second line-of-sight have a common origin. The method is particularly useful for visualising, for example, an open cut mine. An apparatus for working the method is also described.

DISTANCE MEASUREMENT DEVICE, DISTANCE MEASUREMENT METHOD, AND DISTANCE MEASUREMENT PROGRAM
A distance measurement device includes an imaging unit which captures a subject image formed by an imaging optical system, an emission unit which emits directional light as light having directivity along an optical axis direction of the imaging optical system, a light receiving unit which receives reflected light of the directional light from the subject, a derivation unit which derives a distance to the subject based on the timing at which the directional light is emitted and the timing at which the reflected light is received, a display unit which displays the subject image, and a control unit which performs control such that, in a case of performing a distance measurement, the display unit displays the subject image as a motion image and transition is made to a state where actual exposure by the imaging unit is possible at the timing of the end of the distance measurement.
VEHICULAR LIGHTING SYSTEM USING LIGHT PROJECTIONS
A vehicular lighting system includes a light projecting device disposed at each headlight of a vehicle. The light projecting device is part of the respective headlight. The light projecting device, when operated, projects an animated sequence of visual images or a sequence of visual light patterns on a wall in front of the vehicle. The projected animated sequence of visual images or projected sequence of visual light patterns is viewable at the wall by a driver of the vehicle. The light projecting device may include a matrix of light emitting diodes. The visual images or visual light pattern projected by the light projecting device, when operated, may change as distance between the vehicle and the wall decreases.

Object detector and sensor
An object detector includes a projector including a light source having a two-dimensionally arranged plurality of light emitter groups, each of the light emitter groups having a plurality of light emitters, a light receiver which receives light emitted from the projector, and reflected by an object, and a light source driver which lights on and lights off each of the light emitter groups of the light source.

RANGE FINDING DEVICE AND CONTROL METHOD THEREFOR
A range finding device comprising an image sensor and a measurement circuit that measures a distance to a predetermined position within a field of view of the image sensor based on time of flight of light, is disclosed. The range finding device generates data of a composite image of an image obtained by the image sensor and an image indicating a measurement result of the measurement circuit. The range finding device generates data of composite images for display and recording wherein the composite image for display and the composite image for recording differ from each other in a form and/or a composition position of the image indicating the measurement result.
