Baud rate modulating magnetic stripe data transmitter, system, and method
10862718 · 2020-12-08 · ·

A contactless payment device and method transmits a sequence of magnetic-field pulses directly to two or three magnetic-stripe read heads of a point-of-sale terminal. The baud rate at which the data is transmitted is modulated so that track data for one read head channel will be ignored by another read head channel, based on the change to the baud rate and/or the rate of change in the baud rate to improve acceptance of the transmitted pulses received by the read heads of the point-of-sale terminal.

MODULAR TRANSACTION CARD

Embodiments of the present disclosure provide a device, system, methods and components related to a modular card. Example components of the modular card include a thin rectangular rear plate, a thin rectangular front plate overlying the rear plate, a first plurality of fasteners fixed to the thin rectangular front plate, a second plurality of fasteners fixed to the thin rectangular rear plate, the second plurality of fasteners being configured to be removably engaged with the first plurality of fasteners; a magnetic strip, and/or an integrated circuit. In operation a user may remove and/or replace various components to customize the modular card. Some customizations include altering the accounts to which the modular card relates. In some example, the modular card may include components which relate to different accounts.

An electronic device according to one embodiment may include a memory, a coil, a waveform-generating circuit, and a processor configured to: obtain card information stored in the memory; when a first part of the card information is a first value, apply a first voltage or a first current having a first waveform to the coil, where a first tangential slope of a first amplitude of the first waveform for time changes in at least a part of a first interval corresponding to the first part; and when a second part of the card information is a second value, apply a second voltage or a second current having current second waveform to the coil, where a second tangential slope of a second amplitude of the second waveform for time changes in at least a part of a second interval corresponding to the second part.

METAL TRANSACTION CARD WITH REMOVABLE INDICIA

Metal transaction cards with removable indicia are provided. In some approaches, a transaction card may includea metal body having a first main side and a second main side, and an identification chip coupled to the first main side of the metal body. The transaction card may further include an exterior layer along the second main side, the exterior layer containing identifying indicia, wherein at least a portion of the exterior layer is removable from the second main side by at least one of: a set of perforations through the exterior layer, and a channel provided along an outer edge of the second main side.

A transaction card construction and a method for making transaction cards provides increased security for transaction card magnetic strips. The transaction card construct on includes a card inlay and a clear card body. The card inlay is formed via a lamination press process with the magnetic strip attached to a back surface of the card inlay. The card body may have a window through which a data storage element may be exposed for accessing, such as by a magnetic stripe reader or EMV chip reader. The card body may be formed by adhering the card inlay to the clear card body.

Transaction card assembly

A modular transaction card assembly includes a card frame having the traditional dimensions of a credit card, and a transaction card that is smaller than a traditional card and that fits into a receptacle of the card frame. Each of the card frame and the transaction card may be capable of performing contactless data transactions individually. The combined assembly of the card frame with the transaction card secured in the receptacle is also capable of performing contact data transactions, and in some instances, with an identifier that is distinct from the card frame or the transaction card alone. The card frame may include a processor enabling it to perform data encryption and authentication of the smaller transaction card.

Credit card with chromogenic features

A credit card with an obscurable account identifier. The credit card further comprises a substrate defining a first surface with a chromogenic feature wherein the chromogenic feature is capable of changing from a first state and a second state based on an activating trigger. In the first state, the chromogenic feature appears with a first optical property that obscures the account identifier, and in the second state, the chromogenic feature appears with a second optical property that reveals the account identifier.

MAGNETIC PHYSICAL UNCLONABLE FUNCTION WITH MULTIPLE MAGNETIC COERCIVITIES

The use of two different magnetic coercivity materials in order to have both permanent and non-permanent content on the same security object is described. A security device is presented having a polymer matrix composite containing a uniform distribution of a low coercivity magnetic material such as, but not limited to, magnetite. In conjunction with this uniform background a random distribution of high coercivity magnetic material such as but not limited to an alloy of neodymium, iron, and boron (NdFeB) can be mixed within the first uniform background material to form a durable magnetic signature within the low coercivity uniform background. This can be achieved, for example, by compounding low and high coercivity materials in one compounding operation with one matrix material.

Transaction card with 3D printing graphic surface

A transaction card has a 3D printing graphic surface and a card base. The card base comprises in order from top to bottom: a front protective film layer, a front substrate layer, an intermediate INLAY layer, a back substrate layer, a back printing graphic layer, and a back protective film layer. The upper surface of the front protective film layer is adhered with a 3D printing graphic layer with a height of 0.05-0.46 mm. The transaction card is uniquely designed with a 3D printing graphic effect incorporated in the card surfaces, therefore the overall quality of the card is improved, allowing the transaction card to be widely used in financial, transport, social security, medical care, schools, security service and other fields.
