Touch panel

A touch panel is provided. The touch panel includes a first substrate and a luminous flux adjusting portion. The first substrate has a top surface, in which the top surface has at least one semi-transparent area. The luminous flux adjusting portion is disposed on the first substrate and located in the at least one semi-transparent area, in which the luminous flux adjusting portion has a continuous light-impermissible pattern. Embodiments of the present invention uses the luminous flux adjusting portion to control the luminous flux of the semi-transparent area for achieving good consistence and adjustability of the luminous flux of the semi-transparent area.

Time domain differential techniques to characterize various stimuli

A method for determining a stimulus is provided. The method includes determining a touch condition based on the rate of change of electrode capacitance, measuring a characteristic of the electrode capacitance in response to the touch condition being met, and evaluating the measured characteristic to determine the touch stimulus. The method can improve the ability to determine a touch stimulus over existing methods, including the ability to determine fingerprint and handprint biometrics, for example.

Optical touch display device and driving method thereof

An optical touch display device which is advantageous in high-speed driving, large-area touch sensing, and multi-touch sensing because of use of an image map and which can improve touch sensing performance and a driving method thereof are provided. The optical touch display device includes a display device configured to display a display image based on input source image data and an image map for touch sensing, an optical touch pen configured to detect map information of the image map displayed on the display device, and a position detector configured to detect position information (coordinate information) on a screen based on the map information.

A touch-screen assembly for performing pressure sensing or force sensing is disclosed. The touch-screen assembly includes a cover sheet having touch-sensing capability and a frame having an upper surface portion. Spaced-apart adhesive islands are disposed between the cover sheet and the upper surface portion of the frame. The adhesive islands serve to secure the cover sheet to the frame and have a Young's modulus of greater than 1 MPa so that the energy associated with the touching force is not absorbed by the adhesive island. This makes for more accurate pressure-based or force-based touch sensing.

The interface estimates a trajectory of a point of the finger and an impact point of the trajectory on the screen, and moves the graphical element in the direction of the impact point, when a distance between the anchor point and the impact point falls below a first threshold.

A reset potential is supplied to the optical sensors and the signal lines belonging to the predetermined row after completion of the reading period of the predetermined row and before start of the reading period of a row next to the predetermined row.
