CNH Donut Pillow
20200205504 · 2020-07-02 ·

The claimed invention is a pressure and pain relieving prosthetic device, for the ear, to be used with a standard pillow, as a sleep aid, for persons suffering with Chondrodermatitis nodularis chronic helicis, CNH, and, or, Atresia and Microtia-anotia conditions of the ear. Invention is comprised of contiguous foam strips, curved into a teardrop shape, covered in cylindrical nylon spandex, with the ends sewn together, to form a donut shape, then affixed with a head strap. Device is lightweight, yet strong enough to support a head. Device protects, and isolates an ear injury, and permits faster healing. Device allows patients to sleep on their preferred side, without pain.

Personal Support Sling, A Mattress System Including Such Support Sling, Optionally with a Waste Elimination System
20200197248 · 2020-06-25 ·

A patient-support sling is at least partially disposable in a recessed area of the mattress, the sling being tiltably supported by a frame and carrying a waste receptacle. The sling has an aperture and at least one opening, the opening being larger in area than a bedsore. The sling is configured to enable selective relocation of the opening, thereby enabling an accommodation of bed sores for reducing incidence and severity thereof. The receptacle is removably attachable to the pelvic support member and disposable in part below the aperture for receiving eliminated waste of the user.

Patient Support Formed From An Elastomeric Composition Including A Polymer Blend Of Seeps Copolymers

This disclosure provides a person support formed from an elastomeric composition. The elastomeric composition includes a polymer blend with the polymer blend consisting essentially of a first and second SEEPS copolymer. The first and second SEEPS copolymers are present in the polymer blend in an amount of from 75 to 95 percent by weight and 5 to 25 percent by weight, respectively, based on the total weight of the polymer blend. In addition, the sum of the first and second SEEPS copolymers in the polymer blend is 100 percent by weight. The first and second SEEPS copolymers have a weight average molecular weight of weight of at least 200,000 and 125,000 to 175,000, respectively. The disclosure also provides a patient support for supporting a patient with the patient support formed from the elastomeric composition.

Patient support structure, pressure relief module and non-powered pressure regulation method

A patient support structure includes a first supporting part, a second supporting part and a third supporting part. The first supporting part includes a first resilient member; the second supporting part includes a second resilient member; and the third supporting part is between the first supporting part and the second supporting part. The first supporting part, the second supporting part and the third supporting part together define a supporting surface extending along a longitudinal axis, and the second resilient member includes a first supporting area and a second supporting area different in supporting strength.

Devices and methods for supporting and containing premature babies and small-for-age infants

Infant support devices and containment devices are described for use with premature and small-for-age infants, and in particular premature babies two kilograms or less, and even babies of one kilograms or less. The devices can be used separately or in combination (whereupon both support and containment are achieved together).

Systems, methods, and devices for the treatment of sleep disorders

A sleep apparatus, such as a mattress for example, is provided in one embodiment. The apparatus comprises a head support surface sized to support a person's head, and a torso support surface sized to support a person's torso. The head support surface is generally laterally sloped moving from the first side toward the second side, and the torso support surface is generally laterally sloped moving from the first side toward the second side. In some embodiments, the lateral slope of the head support surface is at least about 15, the lateral slope of the head support surface is greater than the lateral slope of the torso support surface, and/or, the sleep apparatus slopes in the longitudinal direction as well.

HEALTHCARE BED

A healthcare bed includes a frame surmounted by a lying surface articulated into multiple sections, corresponding to the regions of the back, buttocks, thighs and legs of the patient. The bed includes a fixed part, substantially on the horizontal plane, and a moveable part which supports a first section, corresponding to the back region, which can be at least inclined with respect to the fixed part. Elements for tilting the first section are also included. The bed further includes a second section corresponding to the buttocks region that is pivoted at the side thereof that is adjacent to a third section, corresponding to the thigh region, and is free at the opposite side, there being elements for supporting and moving the second section from a configuration that is coplanar with respect to the lying surface to a configuration that is inclined and with the free side lowered, and vice versa.

ORTHOPEDIC DEVICE AND METHOD FOR LOWER LIMB ELEVATION AND STABILIZATION

A support device provides elevation and support for a patient's foot, including ankle and heal, and limits lateral and medial rotation of the foot. This protects the knee from injury while healing. The device includes a generally flat main body, two spaced-apart lateral ridges, and a medial depression between the lateral ridges that provides a support surface on which the foot may be positioned. The lateral ridges can extend to a height above the support surface so that inner side surfaces of the lateral ridges are adjacent to a majority of a foot placed in the medial depression. The lateral ridges can terminate below a top of the foot to permit unrestricted ventilation and access to the foot. The lateral ridges can be spaced apart to facilitate placement of a foot onto and removal of the foot from the support surface without manual manipulation of the device.
