The tracker supplies a power supply voltage to the power amplifier via the external connection terminal by using an envelope tracking method. The variable low pass filter is disposed on a path between the tracker and the external connection terminal. In the variable low pass filter, a first block includes at least one electronic component. A second block is a block that varies a cutoff frequency of the variable low pass filter. The second block is integrated with the tracker into one package. The first block is disposed separately from the tracker.

The device comprises: a controller configured to calculate a difference between a first amplitude of a first envelope signal received at a first time instance and second amplitude of a second envelope signal received at a second time instance; compare the difference with a predetermined threshold; and adjust an output envelope signal corresponding to the first envelope signal in response to determining that the difference is greater than or equal to the predetermined threshold, such that the output envelope signal is adjusted step-by-step from the second envelope signal to the first envelope signal with each amplitude step being less than or equal to a predetermined amplitude step.

The device includes: an antenna; a switching regulator; a communication chip including an amplifier, a first linear regulator operably connected to the amplifier and the switching regulator and configured to be supplied with a first voltage from the switching regulator, and a second linear regulator operably connected to the amplifier and the switching regulator and configured to be supplied with a second voltage higher than the first voltage from the switching regulator, the communication chip configured to transmit a radio-frequency signal outside of the electronic device through the antenna; and a control circuit. The control circuit is configured to produce an envelope of an input signal input to the amplifier in connection with the radio-frequency signal and to provide the produced envelope to at least one of the first linear regulator or the second linear regulator. The first linear regulator is configured to provide a third voltage corresponding to the envelope to the amplifier using the first voltage based on the envelope having a voltage in a first range. The second linear regulator is configured to provide a fourth voltage higher than the third voltage to the amplifier using the second voltage based on the voltage of the envelope being in a second range including values larger than values included in the first range.

Herein, a transceiver circuit is configured to determine a voltage target(s) for generating a modulated voltage(s) to amplify a radio frequency (RF) signal modulated in multiple symbols. Specifically, the transceiver circuit will generate multiple voltage targets for any of the symbols to thereby enable intra-symbol voltage modulation when the respective symbol is modulated to carry a selected type of information or generate a single voltage target for any of the symbols to thereby enable inter-symbol voltage modulation when the respective symbol lacks the selected type of information. By dynamically performing inter-symbol and intra-symbol voltage modulation based on the type of information carried in a symbol(s), the modulated voltage can be timely adapted to closely track a time-variant power envelope of the RF signal to thereby avoid potential distortion and protect critical information in the RF signal.
