A connector is fitted into a mating connector including a receiving member, and includes a locking arm for locking the receiving member. The locking arm includes an arm member which extends in a fitting direction to the mating connector, and a locking member which is provided at a tip end of the arm member or in the neighborhood thereof so as to project in a direction intersecting the direction of fitting, and locks the receiving member. The locking member includes a claw which is formed at a tip end of the locking member so as to project in a direction opposite to the fitting direction to the mating connector and is caught by the receiving member.

An electrical connector system includes a connector and a header. The methods comprise: receiving a conductive pin (402, 800, 1006, 1602) of the male plug in a socket opening (112, 900, 1012, 1612) of the female receptacle; providing (a) first spring loaded floating contact points (460) between an elongate body (422) of the conductive pin and an electrical contact (106A-106B) of the female receptacle and (b) at least one second spring loaded floating contact point (462) between a tip (420) of the conductive pin and the electrical contact (110) of the female receptacle, when the conductive pin is fully inserted into the female receptacle; and maintaining at least two of the spring loaded floating contact points when the pin moves within the socket opening as a result of an external force applied to the male plug or female receptacle.

A plug system with a plug connector, such as a high-current plug, and a mating plug connector, such as a high-current socket, for coupling to the plug connector by a lock device which counteracts a withdrawal of the plug connector from the mating plug connector in a locked position (I), wherein the lock device has a lever part which is secured to the plug connector in a pivotal manner and a securing clip which is attached to the lever part in an articulated manner for engaging into an engagement portion of the mating plug connector in the locked position (I).

The insulating body (14) of the high-current electrical connector is retained on the pin contact (11) such that said insulating body can be rotated about the pin axis (S). Thus, the mating electrical connector (4) connected thereto, coded therefor and aligned therewith can be rotatably retained such that the angled cable outlet (42) of the mating electrical connector can be flexibly oriented within the installation space as required.

An electrical connector system includes a terminal carrier lock having a housing defining a cavity or a plurality of cavities. For each cavity, there is a forward stop structure on one side of the cavity and a primary terminal lock on the opposite side of the cavity. The forward stop structure has a terminal forward stop and a pre-lock retention ledge. The corresponding female shroud has a shroud housing defining a cavity or a plurality of cavities, and for each cavity there is a shroud retention feature for engaging the pre-lock retention ledge, and a positive lock retention surface and a terminal position assurance shelf on the inside of the housing facing the cavity. The connector system of the invention provides a terminal position assurance retention feature in each cavity.
