Enhanced pre-wetted intermittent catheter with lubricious coating
The present disclosure relates to a packaged urinary catheter assembly and method of making and using the packaged urinary catheter assembly. The urinary catheter assembly includes a urinary catheter having a proximal end and a distal end. The distal end includes at least one aperture for receiving fluid from a patient. The urinary catheter is contained within a sleeve having a length, a width, and a size configured to receive the catheter. According to one embodiment, the urinary catheter and the sleeve may be arranged in a helical coil. The outer surface of the urinary catheter may have a lubricious and/or an antimicrobial coating.
Pubic catheter apparatus
A pubic catheter apparatus (20) for storing a urinary catheter and drawing fluid from a bladder comprises a sanitation unit (66) defining a sanitation chamber (68) for impermeably sealing a fluid outlet (42) of the catheter from the environment when the fluid outlet (42) is disposed in the sanitation chamber (68). A support (54, 72) having a retained condition for connecting and holding the sanitation unit (66) adjacent to the body of the human and a release condition for releasing and removing the sanitation unit (66) from the body of the human. The support (54, 72) can include a belt (54) and a pouch (48) disposed thereon for surrounding and storing the sanitation unit (66), and connectors (72) in the pouch (48) having the retained condition for holding the sanitation unit (66) in the pouch (48) and the release condition for removing the sanitation unit (66) from the pouch (48).
Urinary Catheter Device
A urinary catheter device having a means for unblocking the catheter includes a tube, which has a distal end that is closed. The tube is resilient and is configured to insert through a urethra of an animal to position the distal end in a bladder. A hole is positioned through a wall of the tube proximate to the distal end and is configured to drain urine from the bladder through a proximal end of the tube, which is open. A channel extends through the wall from a first valve that is coupled to the tube to a chamber that is positioned in the wall proximate to the hole. Introduction of a fluid via the first valve into the chamber expands the chamber and increases a circumference of the hole so that debris that is impeding a flow of the urine through the tube enters and passes through the tube.
MEDICAL PRODUCT PACKAGE
A catheter and package combination including a package having opposed front and rear panels that are sealed together to define a sealed interior cavity. The package also has top and bottom edges and opposed side edges. The cavity has a first height extending in a direction between the top and bottom edges. The front and rear panels are configured to tear adjacent to one of the side edges in the direction between the top and bottom edges to form an opening in communication with the cavity wherein the opening has a second height in the direction between the top and bottom edges that is smaller than the first height of the cavity. A urinary catheter in a compact configuration is disposed within the cavity.
Drug-coated balloon catheters for body lumens
Various embodiments disclosed relate to drug-coated balloon catheters for treating strictures in body lumens and methods of using the same. A drug-coated balloon catheter for delivering a therapeutic agent to a target site of a body lumen stricture includes an elongated balloon having a main diameter. The balloon catheter includes a coating layer overlying an exterior surface of the balloon. The coating layer includes one or more water-soluble additives and an initial drug load of a therapeutic agent.
Drug-coated balloon catheters for body lumens
Various embodiments disclosed relate to drug-coated balloon catheters for treating, preventing, or reducing the recurrence of a stricture and/or cancer, or for treating benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), in a non-vascular body lumen and methods of using the same. In some embodiments, the balloon catheter includes a length-control mechanism which stretches and elongates the balloon when it is in a deflated state, giving the balloon a smaller cross-sectional deflated profile for tracking through the body lumen and for removal after treatment.
URINARY CATHETER
The present invention relates to an improved urinary catheter for efficiently draining urine from a urinary bladder of a patient. The improved urinary catheter includes a soft tip that is friendly to the urinary bladder. The improved urinary catheter further includes longer drainage port for proper irrigation of the catheter and thus make it simple to use and better tolerability. In addition, the improved urinary catheter also includes a catheter plug allowing the patient to move more freely and use lavatory rather than using a urine bag all the time.
FULLY IMPLANTED APHERETER/DIALYZERS FOR INTRACORPOREAL BLOOD PURIFICATION
A fully implantable intracorporeal blood purifier for patients with impaired, missing, or normal kidneys overwhelmed by a myeloproliferative disorder such as polycythemia vera, essential thrombocythemia, primary myelofibrosis, or chronic myelogenous leukemia. Functioning continuously or intermittently around the clock, the patient is spared the need to visit the clinic as frequently for treatment, and less severe renal dysfunction may allow the intervals between visits to be considerably extended if not eliminated. The intracorporeal blood purifier represents the extractive or negative component in a prosthetic disorder response system of which the positive component detects the need for and releases medication such as tyrosine-kinase inhibitorsimatinib, and interferon alfa-2b, and cooperates with the purifier to accomplish kidney functions not simply extractive, such as releasing hormones, calcitriol, sodium, and potassium into the blood, maintaining electrolyte, acid-base, and fluid balance, and furnishing small molecule amino acids and glucose by directly targeting the gut.
Intravesical drug delivery devices and methods including elastic polymer-drug matrix systems
Intravesical drug delivery devices are provided which may include an elongated body formed of a matrix system of a drug dispersed in a silicone, wherein the elongated body has a first end, an opposed second end, and an intermediate portion between the first and second ends, and wherein the silicone of the matrix system is cured to bias the elongated body in a coiled retention shape, such that the device is elastically deformable between a relatively straightened shape suited for insertion of the device through a urethra and into the urinary bladder of a patient and the coiled retention shape which is suited to retain the device within the urinary bladder.
Negative pressure therapy system
A negative pressure therapy system is provided for inducing negative pressure in a portion of a urinary tract of a patient, the system including: (a) at least one ureteral catheter configured to be positioned within a ureter and/or kidney of a patient; (b) one or more sensor(s) configured to determine information about urine produced within a urinary tract of the patient; and (c) a controller configured to increase urine production of the patient by adjusting one or more operating parameters of a negative pressure source for inducing negative pressure through the at least one ureteral catheter into the urinary tract of the patient, based at least in part upon the information determined by the one or more sensor(s).
