Humidification arrangement for a respiratory apparatus
A gas conduit for respiratory apparatus includes a lumen for passage of a breathable gas to a patient and a flexible conduit wall surrounding the lumen. The flexible conduit wall has a humidification apparatus for delivering water vapour into the gas passing through the lumen.
Breathing assistance apparatus
A device for use as part of a breathing assistance system for providing gases to a user. The device may include a fan, an enclosure for receiving a humidification chamber or both. A user interface of the device can indicate the operating mode of the device, whether a peripheral device is connected and whether a gases conduit is correctly connected to the outlet of the device. A controller in the device may hide or block options from the display of the user interface and may also initiate a power save mode when the device is powered by a battery.
WIRE HEATED TUBE WITH TEMPERATURE CONTROL SYSTEM, TUBE TYPE DETECTION, AND ACTIVE OVER TEMPERATURE PROTECTION FOR HUMIDIFIER FOR RESPIRATORY APPARATUS
A PAP system for delivering breathable gas to a patient includes a flow generator to generate a supply of breathable gas to be delivered to the patient; a humidifier including a heating plate to vaporize water and deliver water vapor to humidify the supply of breathable gas; a heated tube configured to heat and deliver the humidified supply of breathable gas to the patient; a power supply configured to supply power to the heating plate and the heated tube; and a controller configured to control the power supply to prevent overheating of the heating plate and the heated tube.
HUMIDIFIER RESERVOIR
An apparatus for humidifying a flow of pressurised, breathable air includes varying a first pressure of the flow of breathable gas to vary a level of thermal engagement between the conductive portion of the reservoir and the heater plate, varying a height of the variable portion varies a level of thermal engagement between the conductive portion of the reservoir and the heater plate, use of a humidifier reservoir base component with a maximum water capacity substantially equal to the predetermined maximum volume of water of the humidifier reservoir or the use of intersecting inlet and outlet axes.
Zone heating for respiratory circuits
Some embodiments provide for an inspiratory limb for a breathing circuit that includes a first segment that comprises a first heater wire circuit and a second segment that comprises a second heater wire circuit. The inspiratory limb can include an intermediate connector that includes a connection circuit that electrically couples the first heater wire circuit to the second heater wire circuit. The inspiratory limb can be configured to operate in two modes wherein, in a first mode, electrical power passes through the first electrical connection to provide power to the first heater wire circuit without providing power to the second heater wire circuit, and in a second mode, electrical power pass through the first electrical connection to provide power to both the first heater wire circuit and the second heater wire circuit.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ON-DEMAND NEAR-PATIENT HUMIDIFICATION
A near-patient humidification system provides vapor to a respiratory breathing circuit. The system includes an expiratory gas conduit and an inspiratory gas conduit. A patient coupling member is provided for coupling the expiratory and inspiratory gas conduits to a patient interface. A vapor injection unit is located at least partially within the housing of the patient coupling member. The vapor injection unit heats a supply of fluid into vapor and injects the vapor into the inspiratory gas passage of the patient coupling member at a vapor injection location for providing moisture to the inspiratory gas flow. A method of simultaneously and independently controlling the temperature and humidity of inspiratory gas in a respiratory breathing circuit is performed by injecting vapor having a temperature determined as a function of measured temperatures and measured humidities of the breathing gas at different locations along the breathing circuit.
MEDICAL COMPONENTS WITH THERMOPLASTIC MOLDINGS BONDED TO SUBSTRATES
A molded member containing a thermoplastic material and a substrate, wherein at least a portion of the substrate is coupled to the thermoplastic material via a silicon-containing linker, and a respiratory apparatus containing the molded member are disclosed. A respiratory apparatus containing a molded member, wherein the molded member contains a thermosetting material and a substrate, and wherein at least a portion of the substrate is coupled to the thermosetting material via a silicon-containing linker is also disclosed.
A BREATHING CIRCUIT HAVING AN EMBEDDED HEATING WIRE AND TEMPERATURE SENSOR
A breathing circuit contains a heating circuit (or heating wire) and a sensor, optionally a temperature sensor therein. The heating circuit (or heating wire), and/or the sensor is embedded within the conduit wall. Respiratory apparatuses containing such a breathing circuit, as well as methods of making such a breathing circuit are provided.
MONITORING AND COMMUNICATING INFORMATION USING DRUG ADMINISTRATION DEVICES
In general, systems and methods for monitoring and communicating information using drug administration devices are provided.
