Device and method for reinforcing the lower body during the performance of a compound weightlifting exercise
Provided herein is a device for reinforcing the lower body during the performance of a compound weightlifting exercise including at least two thigh bands, each defining an opening for a wearer's thigh, at least two biasing straps, each biasing strap having a proximal end and a distal end, each biasing strap connected at the distal end thereof to one of the at least two generally circular thigh bands, and a waist portion connected to the proximal end of each biasing strap. When worn, each of the biasing straps extends between the waist portion and the thigh bands, over one of the wearer's buttocks and a rear portion of the wearer's thigh.
System and methods for designing and manufacturing a bespoke protective sports helmet
A bespoke protective sports helmet to be worn by a player engaged in a sporting activity is provided. The bespoke helmet includes i) systems and methods for acquiring, storing and processing a player's unique data, namely the player's anatomical features, where that player is to wear a protective sports helmet, (ii) for systems and methods of using the player's unique data to manufacture a protective sports helmet with a custom formed internal padding assembly that substantially corresponds to the player's unique data, and (iii) a protective sports helmet designed using the acquired and processed unique player's data and including the custom formed internal padding assembly that provides improved fit and comfort for the player. The system and method allows for the design and manufacture of a bespoke protective sports helmet that is purposely designed and manufactured to match the player's anatomical specifications.
Leg-protecting apparatus having dynamic biological function
A leg-protecting apparatus is arranged in close contact with a body surface of a wearer to cover a thigh, a knee, and a calf of the wearer, including a biomechanically protecting strap arranged to correspond with structural locations and paths of tendons and ligaments of the knee and muscles proximal thereto during an exercise process. The strap comprises a cruciate ligament protecting strap, a patellar tendon protecting strap, a thigh muscle group protecting strap, and a calf muscle group protecting strap. Elastic moduli of the cruciate ligament protecting strap and the patellar tendon protecting strap has a step-change upon a change in a fabric tensile ratio caused by the knee bending of the wearer, wherein the step-change occurs after an initial low tensile modulus stage, during a tensile sudden-change stage, and before a high tensile modulus stage transitioning between the stages as knee angle decreases.
IMPACT MITIGATING MEMBRANE
Generally described, aspects of the disclosed subject matter are directed to impact mitigating membranes. In accordance with aspects of the present disclosure, the impact mitigating membranes generally include a laminar core having a first lamina and a second lamina coupled to the first lamina and configured to shift relative to the first lamina to dissipate kinetic energy resulting from an oblique impact force. The laminar core may include a lubricating layer or self-lubrication between the lamina to reduce friction. In general, the laminar core is surrounded by first and second encapsulating layers positioned adjacent each lamina. An anchoring attachment coupled to one or more of the first and second encapsulating layer and associating with the laminar core constrains relative lateral motion between the laminar core and the first and second encapsulating layers.
HOCKEY PADS
The present invention provides for a hockey pads system construct an arranged with an upper base pad and lower base pad each of said race pads configured to secure one or more sizing pads there between.
Catcher's leg guard
The present invention is directed to a leg guard that provides increased protection while also providing maximum articulation and increased freedom of movement for the user. More particularly, the leg guard includes a toe guard, a shin guard, a knee guard including an extended knee cap wrap, an extended knee guard, a thigh guard, a left hinge, and a right hinge. Through the use of an extended knee cap wrap and a hinged configuration, the leg guard provides additional protection for the knees of a catcher and allows catchers to freely and quickly move to or through different stances without having to re-position the pads of the leg guard. The hinged configuration provides enhanced mobility for the user by preventing the leg guard from shifting and rotating about the shin of the user and allowing the leg guard to remain static without axial rotation or vertical movement.
FOOTWEAR PLATE
A method of forming a plate for an article of footwear is disclosed. The method includes applying a first strand portion to a base layer including positioning adjacent segments of the first strand portion to form a first layer on the base layer. The adjacent segments of the first strand portion having a greater density across a width of the plate between a medial side and a lateral side at a forefoot region of the plate than at a midfoot region of the plate and at a heel region of the plate. The method also includes applying at least one of heat and pressure to the first strand portion and to the base layer to conform the first strand portion and the base layer to a predetermined shape.
SYSTEM AND METHODS FOR DESIGNING AND MANUFACTURING A BESPOKE PROTECTIVE SPORTS HELMET
A bespoke protective sports equipment to be worn by a player engaged in a sporting activity is provided. The bespoke sports equipment system includes methods for acquiring, storing and processing a player's unique data, namely the anatomical features of the body part against which the bespoke equipment is worn. The systems also includes methods of using the player's unique data to manufacture the bespoke protective equipment with a custom formed internal padding assembly that substantially corresponds to the player's unique data. The system and method allows for the design and manufacture of bespoke protective sports equipment that is purposely designed and manufactured to match the anatomical specifications of the player's body part.
PROTECTIVE PAD FOR PROTECTION FROM IMPACT AND A PROTECTIVE GARMENT USING THE SAME
A protective pad for protection from impact and a protective garment using the protective pad may be provided. In one implementation, the protective pad may include a foam part and a plate part. The foam part may include a plurality of channels, a plurality of cutout portions, and a plate accommodating section for receiving the plate part. The channels may be formed in a first surface of the foam part and the plate accommodating section may be formed in a second surface opposite to the first surface. The cutout portions of the foam part may include through-holes formed in the foam part from the first surface to the second surface. The plate part may be arranged on the plate accommodating section of the foam part, and the plate part may include a plurality of cutout portions that are substantially aligned with the cutout portions of the foam part.
Leg Pad
A leg pad (e.g., a hockey leg pad) for protecting a leg of a user, in which the leg pad is designed to enhance protection and freedom of movement (e.g., during skating strides), such as by providing flexibility of the leg pad proximate to a knee and optionally an ankle of the user (e.g., for extension and optional retraction of one or more parts of the leg pad) to better follow natural movements of the user's leg (e.g., bending of the knee and optional flexion of the ankle of the user).
