Block copolymer compositions, prepregs, and laminates made thereform
A resin composition that allows production of laminated sheets excellent in heat resistance and processability is disclosed. The resin composition comprises: a) a block copolymer, where the block copolymer comprises at least one polymer block comprising polymerized acyclic conjugated diene units, such as butadiene units, and at least one polymer block containing units like a conjugated cyclic diene such as 1,3-cyclohexadiene or monomer units characterized by unit Tg above 100 C., b) a curing initiator, and c) optionally diene-based polymer selected from a polybutadiene polymer and the copolymer of butadiene with styrene or other styrenic monomers, c) optional additives comprising but not limited to a multi-functional co-curable additive, a diene based rubber, a halogenated or non halogenated flame retardant, an inorganic or organic filler or fiber, an antioxidant, a adhesion promotor, a film forming
Panel for covering and/or soundproofing a wall of a vehicle and associated method of manufacture
A panel for covering and/or soundproofing a wall of a vehicle includes a central layer produced by impregnating a flexible and porous material with a thermoformable resin, then rigidifying the thermoformable resin. The panel also includes two reinforcement layers arranged on either side of the central layer. The impregnation of the flexible and porous material with the thermoformable resin is carried out deep within the flexible and porous material by subjecting a powder of the thermoformable resin to an alternating electric field, the two reinforcement layers being made of a flexible or semi-rigid material.
PREPREG, FIBER-REINFORCED COMPOSITE MATERIAL, AND MOLDED ARTICLE
A prepreg comprising: carbon fibers; and a resin composition containing an epoxy resin having a biphenyl structure, a curing agent, and melamine cyanurate.
Method of producing a fibrous product and a fibrous product
The present invention relates to multi-layer fiber products and a method of manufacturing these kinds of products. The present product comprises a first layer consists mainly of natural fibers and a second, heat-sealing layer located on top of the first layer. The heat-sealing layer consists mainly of synthetic thermoplastic fibers or particles. According to the present method, the heat-sealing layer is brought onto the first layer already during the web forming process, the first and the second layers being formed and joined together in a foam forming process. With the present invention, it is possible to decrease the amount of plastic materials in packaging materials having heat-sealing properties.
Nanoparticles for improving the dimensional stability of resins
A composition may include the resin and a plurality of polymer nanoparticles included in the resin to form a resin mixture. The resin may have a resin coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE), a resin cure shrinkage, and/or a resin heat of reaction. The polymer nanoparticles may have a nanoparticle cure shrinkage less than the resin cure shrinkage, a nanoparticle CTE different than the resin CTE, and/or a nanoparticle heat of reaction less than the resin heat of reaction.
GRAPHIC SHEET, METHOD OF PRODUCING GRAPHIC SHEET, AND BUILDING STRUCTURE
A graphic sheet is provided that can be affixed with sufficient adhesive force onto wallpaper, a poster, or other substrate having comparatively low strength, and can be easily renewed without damaging the substrate, which is the underlying layer. A graphic sheet of an embodiment of the present disclosure includes: a base film layer having a first surface and a second surface situated on an opposite side of the first surface; and a tacky acrylic foam layer disposed on or above the second surface of the base film layer. The acrylic foam layer contains an acrylic polymer having 20 mass % or more of a unit derived from ethyl acrylate.
Insulation panel
An insulation panel has an insulation core layer disposed that includes at least a first particulate and a second particulate of a plurality of discrete puffed polysaccharide particulates that defines a plurality of voids within the core layer. The first particulate is at least partially adhered to at least the second particulate at one or more bonded areas without the use of external non-water-soluble adhesives.
SOUND ATTENUATING LAMINATE MATERIALS
Sound absorbing or attenuating laminate flooring materials are provided, which are directed to be used in the production of floor covering, floor panels, furniture panels, cabinets, counter-tops and wall panels. As well, the method for producing such products are provided. In particular, abrasion resistant panels, with a laminated structure, created by forming an assembly which consists of laminating a heat-activated resin impregnated paper wear layer, a decorative layer with printed graphics or a wood veneer decorative layer, a medium density (MDF) or high-density (HDF) natural fiber-based core and a resin impregnated paper balancing layer. To achieve sound absorbing and/or attenuating properties, any or all paper layers may be pre coated with an additional flexible elastomeric coating, film or material prior to assembly of the panel, or the natural fiber core panel may be coated with a flexible elastomeric coating, film or material prior to assembly with the papers.
Method to produce a thermoplastic wear resistant foil
A method to produce a wear resistant foil, including providing a first foil including a first thermoplastic material, applying wear resistant particles on the first foil, applying a second foil including a second thermoplastic material on the first foil, and adhering the first foil and the second foil to each other to form a wear resistant foil.
Polymeric composites, resulting panels, and method for producing the same
A polymeric composite derived from a reclaimed polymeric material. The polymeric composite in particulate form can be thermally compressed into panels and other embodiments that require a component that possesses sufficient mechanical strength and moisture resistance. In certain embodiments, the panel may be utilized as one layer in a multilayered article.
