The system includes: a storage element adapted to store a set of parameters associated with a vehicle; a map evaluation element adapted to retrieve information regarding a geographic area associated with a position of the vehicle; and a processing element adapted to determine the projected range of the vehicle based at least partly on the set of parameters and the retrieved information. An automated method of projecting a range of a vehicle includes: generating a set of range projection links; generating a monochrome bitmap based at least partly on the set of range projection links; rendering the set of range projection links within the monochrome bitmap; and tracing the rendered links to generate a polygon outline of the range of the vehicle. A charging facility information providing system includes: an electrically driven vehicle, a charging facility, and a management center, wherein, in the case of charging the storage battery, the electrically driven vehicle and the charging facility perform charge communication, the electrically driven vehicle sends travel plan information, to the charging facility by the charge communication during the charge of the storage battery, the charging facility transfers the travel plan information sent from the electrically driven vehicle to the management center through an information network, then based on the travel plan information received from the charging facility, the management center creates a charging plan which is matched with the running route of the electrically driven vehicle, acquires charging facility information of a charging facility at a scheduled charging place included in the charging plan, and sends the charging plan and the charging facility information to the charging facility through the information network and the charging facility transfers the acquired charging plan and the charging facility information to the electrically driven vehicle by the charge communication.

The disclosure relates to a forestry system (1). The forestry system comprises a harvester (10) comprising an electrical energy generator, and a plurality of self-driving shuttles (20a-f) for transporting logs harvested by the harvester. Each shuttle comprises an electrical energy storage and at least one electrical motor powered by the electrical energy storage. The electrical energy storage of said shuttle is configured to be coupled to the electrical energy generator and charged thereby. The harvester is configured to load a harvested log onto a coupled shuttle and charge the electrical energy storage of said coupled shuttle using electrical energy from the electrical energy generator.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR RECHARGING AN ENERGY STORAGE DEVICE ON A VEHICLE
A vehicle including an energy storage device and a powertrain system configured to effect regenerative braking is described. A method for controlling the vehicle includes determining an expected increase in a state of charge of the energy storage device achieved through opportunity charging by employing regenerative braking during an anticipated next trip of the vehicle. A preferred setpoint for the state of charge of the energy storage device is determined based upon the expected increase in the state of charge achieved through opportunity charging, and charging of the energy storage device is controlled during a remote charging event based upon the preferred setpoint for the state of charge of the energy storage device.

The invention relates to a motor vehicle (1), comprising an electrical energy storage device (2) chargeable via an external charging device (3), and a charging cable (4) for connecting the motor vehicle (1) to the charging device (3), wherein the motor vehicle (1) further comprises a detection device for wireless detection of the presence of the charging cable (4) in at least one region of the motor vehicle (1) and a control unit (10, 11) communicating with the detection device. The control unit is designed, in particular upon start-up of the motor vehicle (1), to inform a driver and/or to block vehicle operation when the detection result indicates the absence of a charging cable (4).
