Method and apparatus for integral double-walled container structures
A method and apparatus for the formation of double-walled containers includes two integrally connected containers extending in the same direction with an air gap between them, stretch-blow moulded as single bodies out of thermoplastic material, and suitable for mass-production. A thermoplastic tubular blank is formed and then heat-conditioned. The heat-conditioned tubular blank is then mechanically stretched longitudinally and blow-formed outwards by gas pressure to form first and second containers. A piston and mould cavity cooperate to further mould the containers such that the second smaller container side wall(s) are at least substantially not in contact with the second container shaped mould cavity set and may be inverted inside-out, while the second smaller container bottom wall at least substantially does not invert, in order for the second smaller container to become a substantially mirror-image inverted second smaller container extending in the same direction as, and interior to, the first container.
PRODUCTION METHOD OF A MODELED OBJECT
A production method of a modeled object includes a fixing step of fixing a thermally expandable sheet onto a tray by entirely or partially fixing a periphery of the thermally expandable sheet placed on the tray by a fixing member; a thermally expanding step of thermally expanding partially the thermally expandable sheet, which is in a state of being fixed onto the tray by the fixing step, by being heated by irradiating the thermally expandable sheet with light by an irradiation unit, while moving the irradiation unit from a first position toward a second position unit; and cooling the thermally expandable sheet, which has been thermally expanded partially by the thermally expanding step, while maintaining the state in which the thermally expandable sheet is fixed onto the tray, while returning the irradiation unit from the second position to the first position.
Nonwovens having aligned segmented fibers
Nonwoven fabrics suitable for a wide variety of applications (e.g., healthcare, filtration, industrial, packaging, etc.) are provided. In one aspect, the nonwoven fabric includes a plurality of segmented fibers. Each of the plurality of segmented fibers may comprise a fiber axis and a plurality of alternating larger diameter and smaller diameter segments along the fiber axis. The plurality of segmented fibers may be substantially aligned in a first direction.
OUTLET FOR A STATIC MIXER
An outlet for a static mixer includes a cannula, a housing accommodating part of the cannula within a passage extending through the housing in an axial direction. The cannula is attached to the housing via a joining member permanently fixed to an outer surface of the cannula, with the joining member being arranged within a recess of the housing, and with the joining member being formed from a material different to the material of the cannula and from the material of the housing.
PREACTIVATED, BATCH FIREABLE GETTER WITH INTEGRATED, MINIATURE, SINGLE-ACTUATION, EXTREMELY HIGH-TEMPERATURE BAKEABLE VALVE
A getter assembly is provided and includes a first canister, an internal can including getter, and a second canister. The internal can is disposable in the first canister to occupy a first position at which the getter is hermetically sealable and second positions at which the getter is exposed to an exterior environment. The second canister is engageable with the first canister to drive movements of the internal can between the first position and the second positions following activation and hermetic sealing of the getter
Methods for making flexible containers and associated products
Disclosed is a method for making a flexible container. The method implements an injection mold having a collapsible core that expands/moves to define the apertures and, in some embodiments, holds a flexible film in place during the injection mold process and collapses/moves back post-injection molding to allow for the flexible container to be readily removed from the die. In addition, the method described includes a post-injection molding anneal process that is implemented to allow the flexible film to shrink so as to provide for form-fitting of the film to the molded portion of the container.
HYBRID COMPOSITE TAILGATE
The invention relates to a hybrid tailgate for a vehicle, comprising a thermoplastic inner structure forming the carrier frame of the tailgate, and at least one composite reinforcement part to reinforce the carrier frame, wherein the composite reinforcement part is connected to the thermoplastic inner structure at a first surface, wherein the composite reinforcement part forms a continuous load path in the inner structure enclosing a tailgate window opening for a window glazing part of the tailgate. Furthermore, the invention relates to a vehicle comprising such a hybrid tailgate. Moreover, the invention relates to a method of manufacturing such a hybrid tailgate, the method comprising forming a composite laminate part into an insert; placing the insert in an injection molding tool; and over-molding the insert with polymer resin.
Method for preparing a two-component article and article obtainable by the method
A method for preparing an article includes at least a first component of a polyolefin in conjunction with a second component of a polymer made by ring-opening metathesis polymerisation of norbornene type monomers. The method includes pre-treating a surface of the first component, applying a ring-opening metathesis polymerisable mixture of norbornene type monomers and a catalyst to the surface, and curing the ring-opening metathesis polymerisable mixture in contact with the surface, wherein the ring-opening metathesis polymerisable mixture has a η.sub.1000 at 30° C. of more than 9 sec. Articles such as a pipe line field joint or a protective element for a concrete tunnel lining element can be made using the method.
Connector, method of making connector and tubing assembly method
A fitting or connector for use in constructing a tubing assembly is made by bonding an olefin gasket to an end face of a polypropylene fitting member. The gasket is bonded to the fitting member via a heat fusion technique that causes localized melting together of the gasket and the fitting and generates a composite fitting or connector.
Method of forming a package
A method of forming a package is provided and includes providing two laminate edge portions of the package, each of which includes a foil layer between first and second resin layers; and welding together the respective first resin layers at a first position spaced apart from the edges while not welding the respective first resin layers at the edges, wherein the edge portions include edges from which electrode terminals extend such that portions of the electrode terminals are exposed beyond the edges, and wherein the edge portions are between a sealing portion and exposed portions of positive and negative electrode terminals.
