A sheet processing apparatus includes a transport path for transporting a sheet in a predetermined transport direction; a folding unit disposed along the transport path to perform folding processing on a sheet transported through the transport path; and a downstream-side unit disposed on a downstream side in the transport direction along the transport path to perform processing on a sheet transported from the folding unit. The folding unit includes a space section disposed at a lower side of the transport path for forming a cylindrical shape on a sheet; a transport roller disposed in the transport path to transport a sheet to the space section; and folding rollers to form a fold at a predetermined position on a sheet in which the cylindrical shape is formed. The space section is provided in a range of overlapping the downstream-side unit in a height direction orthogonal to the transport direction.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a sheet support portion to support a sheet, an ascending portion to raise the sheet support portion, a feeding portion to feed the sheet, a moving portion to move the feeding portion between a separated position and a feeding position, a holding portion to move between a holding position and an allowing position, a drive source, and a transmission unit including a first transmission portion to transmit the driving force to the ascending portion and a second transmission portion to transmit the driving force to the holding portion.

A post-processing apparatus includes an ejection tray receiving a recording medium that is ejected, an elastic member urging the ejection tray upward in a vertical direction, a moving mechanism causing the ejection tray to move up and down in the vertical direction, and a driving source driving the moving mechanism.

Provided is a medium supply device including a spindle that supports a medium having a roll shape, a supplying portion that supplies the medium supported by the spindle toward outside, a plurality of support rollers that support the medium in positions between the spindle and the supplying portion, a moving roller that, in a contact position between the support rollers, is capable of coming into contact with a bridging medium extending across the support rollers in a state where a load is applied to the bridging medium and that is capable of moving from the contact position to a non-contact position of non-contact with the bridging medium, and a moving mechanism configured to move the moving roller from the contact position to the non-contact position.

There is provided a cutting mechanism including: a cutter blade that can cut a medium, a cutter unit to which the cutter blade is attached, a first pinion gear that is rotatably attached to the cutter unit, and a rack gear that can mesh with the first pinion gear, in which the first pinion gear and the rack gear are configured with inclined teeth, and the cutter unit moves while the pinion gear is rotated in state of meshing the pinion gear and the rack gear.

An example system includes an advancement mechanism to drive print media into a stacking region, a movable media guide arrangement and a controller. The movable media guide arrangement includes a pair of opposing media guides to receive opposing edges of a print medium therein and a translation mechanism to move the opposing media guides between at least two positions, the at least two positions including a deployed position and a retracted position. The controller is to actuate the translation mechanism to move the opposing media guides into the deployed position when the advancement mechanism transports a print medium into the stacking region and to actuate the translation mechanism to move the opposing media guides to the retracted position to release the print medium.

A sheet folding apparatus for folding a sheet is provided with a hold member that holds a transported sheet in a substantially cylindrical shape, a shift member that presses the outer circumferential surface of the sheet of the substantially cylindrical shape held by the hold member to make a substantially flat shape, and a discharge section that further presses the sheet made the substantially flat shape by the shift member, while discharging in a direction crossing a transport direction. By this means, it is possible to provide a relatively compact sheet folding apparatus.

A double-tape banknote temporary storage device is provided, which includes a banknote temporary storage reel, a pair of tape withdrawing reel assemblies, a pair of tapes, a pair of tape pressing wheels. The double-tape banknote temporary storage device further includes a planetary gear decelerating motor and a synchronous gear transmission system, and a driving gear is provided on an output shaft of the planetary gear decelerating motor. An assembly for folding polymeric film for machines for forming pouches and the like includes a fixed frame for supporting a magazine for the polymeric film, an element for folding the film that arrives from the magazine, and at least one heat-sealing device for the stable coupling of juxtaposed portions of the folded film that arrives from the folding element. The folding element is mounted on a carriage, which can translate along a respective guide which is integral with the frame, along the sliding direction of the film, with a speed that is variable in intensity and sign. The at least one heat-sealing device acts on portions folded onto themselves of the film during a temporary stop thereof. The carriage retracts with respect to the sliding direction of the film for the entire duration of the temporary stop step provided for the heat-sealing of the film.

There is provided a recording apparatus including: a recording unit that is configured to be capable of moving in a width direction of a medium and records an image on the medium; and a cutter unit that is configured to be connectable to the recording unit and cuts the medium by moving in the width direction, in which the recording unit has a first connection portion and a second connection portion for connecting with the cutter unit, and the cutter unit has a first engagement portion for engaging with the first connection portion and a second engagement portion for engaging with the second connection portion.
