Treatment and regeneration system and method for extracting organic solutes from-water
Provided is a system and method for extracting organic solutes from water with a filter media. The system and method allow for regenerating the filter media following treatment of a water supply containing one or more organic solutes to allow the media to be reused for subsequent water treatment operations. The system and method also allows for regeneration of the displacement fluid for reuse in the regeneration of the media with recovery of at least one or more organic solutes from the displacement fluid. Additionally, the system and method allows for substantially continuous treatment of a water supply and regeneration of a filter media.
Hydrogen storage product and method for manufacturing same
The hydrogen storage product comprises one or more reduced-graphene oxide layers functionalized with a boron species and decorated with an alkali or alkaline earth metal. Each layer of the structure further comprises boron-oxygen functional groups comprising oxygen atoms bonded to boron atoms. The hydrogen storage product has a composition suitable for physisorption of hydrogen molecule, and operates to reversibly store hydrogen under operating conditions of low pressure and ambient temperature.
METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR REDUCING THE CONCENTRATION OF AMINE IN WASH LIQUID USED IN INDUSTRIAL PROCESSING
A method for reducing the concentration of amines in a wash liquid stream exiting a wash section in an acid gas scrubbing process includes introducing the wash liquid stream exiting the wash section of the acid gas scrubbing process to an adsorbent material, wherein the wash liquid stream has a first concentration of amines. The wash liquid stream having the first concentration of amines is flowed through the adsorbent material, and the adsorbent material retains at least a portion of the amines thereby providing a wash liquid stream having a second, reduced concentration of amines. The wash stream with reduced concentration of amines is recycled back to the wash section to remove amines more effectively from the acid gas being scrubbed. The adsorbent material can be regenerated for reuse. Amine recovered from the regenerated adsorbent material can be recycled to the process for reuse.
Gas dehydration with mixed adsorbent/desiccant beds
Mixed adsorbent/desiccant beds comprising in some embodiments from about 20 vol % (volume percent) to about 90 vol % of one or more adsorbents and from about 10 vol % to about 80 vol % of one or more desiccants, based on the total volume of the adsorbent/desiccant mixture, prevent water reflux during thermal regeneration of adsorption beds in gas processing plants and methods.

A low-temperature plasma regeneration system and a low-temperature plasma regeneration method is for inactivated activated carbon, wherein the system comprises a gas supply system, a plasma reaction apparatus and a waste gas treatment apparatus, wherein the gas supply system is configured for supplying gas and water vapor; the plasma reaction apparatus comprises a top electrode, a grounded lower electrode, a regeneration reactor arranged between the electrodes, and a high-voltage alternating current power supply connected with the top electrode; a stirrer is arranged in the regeneration reactor, a gas inlet is arranged at the center position of the top of the reactor, and gas outlets are arranged around the reactor. The system of the present invention has a simple and compact structure, a convenient operation and a function of reaction-and-premix integration.
Method and system for pelletizing spent bleaching earth
The present disclosure includes a process for pelletizing a spent bleaching earth (SBE) into a clay-biocarbon composite including classifying the SBE based on at least one parameter of the SBE, selecting at least one filler compound and mixing the at least one filler compound with the SBE to make a mixture, forming a plurality of pellets out of the mixture, and pyrolyzing the pellets to produce the clay-biocarbon composite. Pyrolyzing a pelleted spent bleaching earth (SBE) may include advancing the pelleted SBE with a distributer to a first thermal chamber for providing even thermal processing, releasing the pelleted SBE to an auger to cool to room temperature, and condensing at least one volatile compound emitted from the pelleted SBE during thermal processing to produce a condensate for reuse.
SEPARATION OF NITROGEN FROM HYDROCARBON GAS USING PYROLYZED SULFONATED MACROPOROUS ION EXCHANGE RESIN
A method for separating N.sub.2 from a hydrocarbon gas mixture containing N.sub.2 comprising the steps of: i) providing a bed of adsorbent selective for N.sub.2; (ii) passing the hydrocarbon gas mixture through the bed of adsorbent to at least partially remove N.sub.2 from the gas mixture to produce: (a) N.sub.2-loaded adsorbent and (b) N.sub.2-depleted hydrocarbon gas mixture; iii) recovering the N.sub.2-depleted hydrocarbon gas mixture; iv) regenerating the N.sub.2-loaded adsorbent by at least partially removing N.sub.2 from the adsorbent; and v) sequentially repeating steps (ii) and (iii) using regenerated adsorbent from step (iv); wherein the adsorbent comprises a pyrolized sulfonated macroporous ion exchange resin.
ACTIVATED CARBON REGENERATION METHOD AND GOLD RECOVERY METHOD
An activated carbon regeneration method of the present invention is for eluting gold from activated carbon on which the gold has been adsorbed and thereafter recycling, in adsorption of the gold, the used activated carbon from which the gold has been eluted, the method including: washing the used activated carbon with an acidic washing liquid, alkaline washing liquid or neutral washing liquid; and when the used activated carbon is washed with the acidic washing liquid, keeping the acidic washing liquid after the washing in an acidic region, or when the used activated carbon is washed with the alkaline washing liquid or neutral washing liquid, keeping the alkaline washing liquid or neutral washing liquid after the washing in an alkaline region or neutral region.
