Apparatus and method for inserting one or more goods into a move-able cover
An apparatus for inserting one or more goods into a moving cover includes a cover transport, and at least one separating device configured to engage with a first part of the cover and to maintain the first part of the cover separate from a second part of the cover during at least a part of the movement of the cover.
POST-PROCESSING APPARATUS AND CONTROL METHOD
A post-processing apparatus for an image forming apparatus includes a processing tray on which a sheet bundle is placed for discharging onto a discharge tray, a detector configured to detect presence or absence of the sheet bundle on the processing tray, and a controller. The controller is configured to control driving of the processing tray to discharge the sheet bundle onto the discharge tray and to determine whether or not to output an error if a detection result of the detector after the processing tray has been driven to discharge the sheet bundle onto the discharge tray indicates presence of the sheet bundle. The controller outputs the error if the sheet bundle is not a last sheet bundle of a post-processing job and does not output the error if the sheet bundle is the last sheet bundle of the post-processing job.
Sheet stacker and image forming apparatus
A sheet stacker includes a lifting mechanism, a tray, a conveyor, processing circuitry, an upper-limit sensor, a lift pause sensor, a lower-limit sensor, and a lowering pause sensor. The tray stacks multiple sheets. The conveyor above the tray conveys a sheet. The processing circuitry controls, via the lifting mechanism, a height position of the tray. The upper-limit sensor detects that an uppermost sheet of the sheets has reached an upper-limit position. The lift pause sensor detects that the uppermost sheet has reached a lift pause position lower than the upper-limit position. The lower-limit sensor detects that the tray has reached a lower-limit position. The lowering pause sensor detects that the tray has reached a lowering pause position higher than the lower-limit position. The upper-limit sensor, the lift pause sensor, the lower-limit sensor, and the lowering pause sensor are disposed in a space in which the tray is lifted and lowered.
Sheet conveying apparatus, sheet processing apparatus and image forming apparatus
A sheet conveying apparatus has a belt with a widthwise side portion extending in a traveling direction of the belt, the widthwise side portion including a portion defining a notch being recessed in a width direction orthogonal to the traveling direction, the notch being defined by less than an entire length, in the traveling direction, of the widthwise side portion, a contacting member arranged to be in contact with an end portion of a sheet to be conveyed, the contacting member being attached to the belt so that at least a part of the contacting member is arranged in the notch of the belt, a regulating portion configured to regulate a position of the belt in the width direction by contacting with the widthwise side portion of the belt, and a driving portion configured to drive the belt.
System and method for high-speed insertion of envelopes
This invention overcomes the disadvantages of the prior art by providing a system and method for inserting contents into envelopes that generally reduces the number of operative device components, locates all components in a readily and accessible location, reduces the number of adjustments needed to change envelope size and contents size, provides an efficient and aesthetically pleasing design, allows for a highly flexible arrangement of backup hoppers to primary hoppers for feeding envelope contents and otherwise affords a substantial number of improvements over currently available envelope inserters. The illustrative embodiment includes a feed table with a low-slung swing arm for handling contents, a pivoting feed table that exposes the operative components on the underside, a novel raceway belt with projecting lugs for transporting contents to the insertion area, a primary and secondary contents hopper backup system, a mechanism for easily adjusting for different-sized envelopes, and a variety of other novel features.
Apparatus for supplying a large amount of bag
An apparatus for supplying a large amount of bags includes: a bag stocking mechanism that stocks a large amount of raised bags and guides the stocked bags to the front end thereof; and a bag transport mechanism that transports the bags of the bag stocking mechanism to a packaging machine. The apparatus further includes, a bag pickup mechanism and a bag delivery mechanism that pick up the bag from the bag stocking mechanism; a detection unit that detects the orientation of the picked up bag; and a bag turning mechanism that turns the bag in the predetermined transport direction of the bag transport mechanism according to the orientation of the bag detected by the detection unit.
Sheet conveying apparatus, sheet processing apparatus and image forming apparatus
A sheet conveying apparatus with a belt having a cutaway portion at least at one end portion in a width direction orthogonal to a traveling direction and a thickness direction thereof, a claw member and a driving portion driving the belt. The claw member has a pinching portion configured to attach the claw member to the belt by pinching the belt.
Vacuum conveyor apparatus
Conveying apparatus comprising: (1) a conveyor belt comprising a load bearing belt having an exterior surface and an interior surface, the belt having a plurality of channels therethrough, (2) mounting material on the exterior surface of the belt, and (3) a resilient engagement covering. Also a method of using the apparatus in conjunction with means for applying a negative pressure.
