A front end conveyor includes a frame having a first side and a second side, a lower deck and an upper deck. The lower deck includes a plurality of sheet supports, and upper portions of the sheet supports lie in a first plane. The upper deck includes a plurality of sheet guides that define with the sheet supports a sheet transport path through the front end conveyor. A chad wall extends transversely to the sheet transport direction and has a top edge located below the sheet transport path and a front surface facing in the upstream direction and a plurality of fingers projecting from the front surface in the upstream direction. The top edge of the chad wall is positioned relative to the sheet transport path such that hanging chads depending from the sheets will impact the chad wall.

A stacking device for generating decks (10) of sheet elements (12) comprises a transport device with an upper side onto which sheet elements (12) are arranged on separate sheet sections (50). Each sheet section (50) is adapted to transport at least one sheet element (12). The upper side has a height offset between adjacent sheet sections (50). A displacement element shifts sheet elements (12) of one sheet section (50) onto an adjacent sheet section (50) in order to produce the deck (10) of sheet elements (12).

Device and method for loading a storage area

A loading device to supply successively with cardboard sheets a station for handling the sheets by folding to form from them boxes for packaging, the handling station having a storage area to receive the successive sheets, optionally grouped in bundles, the device itself having a manipulator that includes: a gripping tool to pick up the sheets; an actuator to move the tool between an inventory of sheets and the receiving storage area of the station; a detection unit for detecting the status of filling of the storage area; and a control unit that directs the action of the device and that receives detection information from the detection unit to do this, the control unit being independent of the control of the handling station and programmable to adapt the operation of the loading device to the type of sheets handled. A corresponding process is also described.

A sheet conveying device includes: a sheet discharge roller disposed in a conveying path of sheets so as to discharge a sheet being conveyed to a sheet discharge tray; a conveying unit that conveys sheets on a side of the conveying path closer to an upstream side than the sheet discharge roller; a motor that rotates at a constant system speed during conveying of sheets to drive the conveying unit; a transmission mechanism that transmits power of the motor to the sheet discharge roller to rotate the sheet discharge roller; and a controller that controls an operation of the transmission mechanism, wherein the transmission mechanism changes a circumferential speed of the sheet discharge roller, and the controller performs speed reduction control of controlling the operation of the transmission mechanism to temporarily reduce the circumferential speed of the sheet discharge roller when a sheet is discharged to the sheet discharge tray.

The separation of sheet material is not effected statically, but a suitable pick-up position and/or a suitable pick-up mechanism is selected for each sheet material piece, for example in dependence on the quality of a surface of the sheet material piece to be picked up, in order to pick up the sheet material piece from the sheet material stack and remove it from the same.

A system includes a sheet holder configured to hold a sheet of blanks, the sheet of blanks including a first blank and a second blank attached to the first blank. A conveyor mechanism is configured to transport the sheet of blanks from the sheet holder to a separator mechanism. The separator mechanism is configured to apply a pulling force to the first blank. A resistance component is configured to apply a resistance force to the second blank to resist the pulling force. The pulling force and the resistance force are configured to separate the first blank from the second blank.

The servomotors are controlled so to be accelerated synchronously and rapidly from a stopped state to a high rotational speed during one cycle of feeding through contact with the lowermost cardboard sheet, while controlled so to be decelerated from the high rotational speed to be stopped rapidly and respectively when determined not to be in contact with the lowermost cardboard sheet.

A cardboard conveyor device forms sub negative pressure regions communicative to a main negative pressure region by using wind shield structures of a plate body structure, thus saving power consumption of an aspirator. The plate body structure is for example formed by three plate bodies, the plate body of a middle layer has air holes, the plate body of an upper layer has first interval spaces penetrating the plate body of the upper layer, and the plate body of a lower layer has second interval spaces penetrating the plate body of the lower layer. Each of the first interval spaces is communicative to the corresponding second interval space via the corresponding air holes, and the second interval spaces are communicative to the main negative pressure region. Thus, the sub negative pressure regions can provide a negative pressure to the cardboard being conveyed.
