Circulation chamber and method of using same
A circulation chamber for a cargo container comprises a cargo container extension including a housing, a cargo container aperture, and an interior volume; the cargo container extension is structured and dimensioned to be attached to an opening of the cargo container, thereby placing the interior volume in fluid communication with an interior of the cargo container. The housing, cargo container aperture, and interior volume may be cooperatively structured and dimensioned to allow at least a portion of the cargo container to be disposed and projected through the cargo container aperture, and furthermore, allow, at least partially, the opening of a door of the cargo container while the circulation chamber is attached to the cargo container.

This invention relates to an antimicrobial cover comprising or consisting of an antimicrobial agent-generating article for use with a container for transporting or storage of fruit and a container comprising the antimicrobial of the invention. The invention further relates to a method of preventing or inhibiting the growth of microorganisms, particularly fungal organisms, in packaged fruit comprising the use of the antimicrobial of the invention.
STORAGE OF POST-CLIMACTERIC FRUIT
Systems and methods for storing post-climacteric fruit are described. The system is scalable for home or commercial use and extends the storage life of fruit sensitive to over-ripening and spoilage because of the emission of ethylene gas. The described systems circulate and remove the ethylene gas, emitted by the fruit, from within an enclosure containing the fruit. Also, the system may store the fruit at an average temperature that extends the storage life of the fruit. The systems accomplish these objectives by thermally cycling the temperature of the air/gas within the enclosure containing the fruit about a desired storage temperature. The change in temperature may cause the air to expand and contract. Mechanisms allow the expanding and contracting air to exchange the gas within the enclosure with the air outside the enclosure, inducing the flushing of the ethylene gas.

SYSTEM FOR CLEANING FRESH AND FRESH-CUT PRODUCE
The system for cleaning fresh and freshly-cut produce is designed to clean produce as soon as practicable after the produce is cut. As the produce falls downwardly, a spray manifold directs a produce-washing liquid upwardly so that the produce-washing liquid directly sprays and impacts the falling produce. The impact of the produce-washing liquid causes the produce to tumble and the descent of the produce is slowed, and consequently the produce is thoroughly coated and cleaned by the produce-washing liquid. In an alternative embodiment, a suspending fluid (preferably air) is simultaneously directed to the falling produce to slow the descent of the produce and further ensure that the produce is thoroughly washed and directly sprayed by the produce-washing liquid.

The present disclosure relates to an air modifying device for extending the shelf life of a fresh product and to methods of extending the shelf life of fresh products. Certain embodiments of the present disclosure comprise an air modifying device for extending shelf life of a fresh product. The device comprises a hollow body, one or more means for moving air or a gas through the hollow body, a surface within the hollow body, the surface comprising a metal oxide, and a source of UV light within the body to direct UV light onto the surface comprising the metal oxide, wherein irradiation of the metal oxide with the UV light modifies the air or gas moved through the device so that release of the modified air or gas from the device into the atmosphere around the fresh product extends the shelf life of the fresh product.
