A knot tying device for realizing a knot of a tie that has a narrower part and a wider part includes a ring defining an internal cavity for passage of the narrower part and an external surface of support for the wider part; a ferromagnetic body, integral to the ring; and a magnet suitable for resting on the wider part so as to overlap the ferromagnetic body, constraining itself to the ferromagnetic body and blocking the wider part to the ring.

In one embodiment, the device includes a first contoured portion, a second contoured portion, a nose, a hoop, and an ornamental extension, a first end of the first contoured portion and a first end of the second contoured portion being continuous with the nose, a second end of the first contoured portion and a second end of the second contoured portion being continuous with the hoop, the ornamental extension extending from the nose, the first contoured portion configured for receiving a first portion of a tie, the second contoured portion configured for receiving a second portion of the tie, the nose configured to buttress a third portion of the tie, the hoop configured to buttress a fourth portion of the tie, the ornamental extension configured to descend between two portions of the tie.

In one embodiment, the device includes a first contoured portion, a second contoured portion, a nose, a hoop, and an ornamental extension, a first end of the first contoured portion and a first end of the second contoured portion being continuous with the nose, a second end of the first contoured portion and a second end of the second contoured portion being continuous with the hoop, the ornamental extension extending from the nose, the first contoured portion configured for receiving a first portion of a tie, the second contoured portion configured for receiving a second portion of the tie, the nose configured to buttress a third portion of the tie, the hoop configured to buttress a fourth portion of the tie, the ornamental extension configured to descend between two portions of the tie.

A neck tie tying aid and a related method is disclosed. The device has a length gauge to allow proper length of the necktie to be achieved, while also having a removably secured section for threading, wrapping and tying the necktie to effect a perfect knot. Elements of the retractable gauge cooperate to also provide the means for releasably securing the device to the necktie. In a related method, the device is used in a one-handed method for tying a necktie.

A neck tie tying aid and a related method is disclosed. The device has a length gauge to allow proper length of the necktie to be achieved, while also having a removably secured section for threading, wrapping and tying the necktie to effect a perfect knot. Elements of the retractable gauge cooperate to also provide the means for releasably securing the device to the necktie. In a related method, the device is used in a one-handed method for tying a necktie.

A system is provided that enables a wearer to tie a dress tie so that the ends thereof are of optimum length on the first try after a short, one-time practice session. Optimum length is assumed when the tip of large end of the tie is even with the center of the wearers belt buckle. The system necessitates creation of a line of dress ties that, except for the print design on the outer shell, are essentially identical with respect to thickness, width and length. In addition, all ties in the line must employ a dimensionally-stable internal backing fabric, to prevent stretching. Identical series of equally-spaced position markers are provided on each tie in the line so that a wearer can identify a proper starting point for beginning to knot the tie. Markers are embroidered or deposited on a portion of each tie.

A necktie having one or two openings or slots in the necktie body to facilitate tying and setting the length of the front section, or blade of the necktie and allowing the blade and the tail of the necktie to be arranged more easily than with a conventional necktie, with embodiments having the slot extending approximately parallel to the longitudinal centerline of the necktie, alternate embodiments having the slot set at an acute angle to the longitudinal centerline of the necktie, alternate embodiments having two slots positioned approximately parallel to one another and extending along or at an acute angle from the longitudinal centerline of the necktie, alternate embodiments having the slot(s) inset in an enclosed mechanism, such as a zipper, to allow for the fine-tune adjustment of the slot's location along the length of the necktie, alternate embodiments including an insert, such as a grommet or eyelet to reinforce the edge(s) of the slot(s), alternate embodiments having buttonhole stitching to reinforce the edge(s) of the slot(s), alternate embodiments in which the tail is of sufficient length to fall vertically against the torso after tying, and alternate embodiments in which the tail is cropped short either to show as a tab at the collar adjacent the slot, or to be tucked beneath the collar and not to show.
