Low-gloss heat-resistant abs resin composition and its preparation method
20170355847 · 2017-12-14 ·

The present invention relates to a low-gloss heat-resistant ABS resin composition and its preparation method. The low-gloss heat-resistant ABS resin composition includes following components by weight: 100 parts of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) resin, 5-30 parts of heat-resistant agent, 1-5 parts of matte masterbatch D, 0.2-1.0 parts of light stabilizer, and 0.5-2.0 parts of other additives. The preparation method includes steps of: stirring and fully mixing the above-mentioned raw materials in a high-speed mixer, and then feeding the raw materials into a twin-screw extruder through a metering device; melting and compounding the materials under the conveying, shearing and mixing of the screws, and then extruding, pulling, cooling and granulating, and finally obtaining the low-gloss heat-resistant ABS resin composition. The resin composition provided by the present invention not only has excellent mechanical properties, but also has an ultra-low gloss; therefore, it is very suitable for use in the field of automotive interior parts.

TOY BUILDING BRICKS MADE OF RECYCLED ABS MATERIAL

A toy building element made of recycled Acrylonitrile Butadiene Styrene (“ABS”) material and manufactured by processing, of a resin comprising, mechanically recycled ABS polymers and/or chemically recycled ABS polymers recovered from a solvent dissolution recycling process. A method for the manufacture of a toy building element includes providing and screening an ABS waste material. The method includes recovering recycled ABS polymers from the screened ABS waste material by subjecting the ABS waste material to grinding and/or a solvent dissolution recycling process. The method includes obtaining a resin by mixing the recovered ABS polymers with one or more additive(s) and optionally one or more ABS polymers selected from the group consisting of virgin ABS polymers, chemically recycled ABS polymers recovered from pyrolysis and chemically recycled ABS polymers recovered from chemical depolymerisation. The method thereafter includes manufacturing the toy building element by processing the resin.

METHODS OF IMPROVING ADHESION OF NON-DI-(2-ETHYLHEXYL)PHTHALATE POLYVINYL CHLORIDE TO AN ACRYLIC- OR ABS-BASED POLYMER
20170349715 · 2017-12-07 ·

The present disclosure provides methods of improving adhesion of a non-di-(2-ethylhexyl)phthalate (DEHP) plasticized polyvinyl chloride (PVC) to an acrylic-based polymer or an ABS-based polymer. Such methods may comprise blending the acrylic-based polymer or ABS-based polymer with an impact modifier so that a rubber content in the acrylic-based polymer or ABS-based polymer is greater than 12% (w/w). Also provided are components of a device (e.g., a medical device) made by the disclosed methods.

Easily-plated PC/ABS alloy and its preparation method

The present invention relates to an easily-plated PC/ABS alloy and its preparation method. The PC/ABS alloy includes following components: 30-70 parts by weight (pbw) of PC resin, 15-65 pbw of ABS resin, 5-10 pbw of PEO resin, 0.1-1 pbw of antioxidant, and 0.1-1 pbw of lubricant. For preparation, blending the PC resin, ABS resin, PEO resin, antioxidant and lubricant in a mixer; and putting a mixture in a twin-screw extruder for granulation, thus producing easily-plated PC/ABS alloy. The method is simple and practicable. PEO resin makes PC/ABS surface have the property of hydrophilicity, which makes the etching solution easier to wet the surface when under etching, so that the etching becomes much easier. The binding force of hydrophilic group on the surface of PEO to the metal is strong. The binding force of PC/ABS alloy material is improved due to the combination between the chemical bond and physical force.
