Lubricating Compositions
A lubricating composition suited for use in lubricating a driveline device includes an oil of lubricating viscosity and a compound comprising a polyolefin-substituted bridged hydroxyaromatic compound or metal salt thereof, wherein the polyolefin is derived from a isobutylene having a number average molecular weight of 150 to 800.
ALKYLPHENOL DETERGENTS
The disclosed technology provides a lubricating composition comprising an oil of lubricating viscosity and a detergent comprising a polyolefin-substituted hydroxy-aromatic carboxylic acid or salt thereof, wherein the polyolefin is derived from a branched alkene having at least 4 carbon atoms and wherein the polyolefin has a number average molecular weight of 150 to 800. The invention further relates to a method of lubricating a mechanical device with the lubricant composition.
Lubricant composition
An antioxidant package composition including a combination of: (i) at least one hindered phenolic antioxidant, and (ii) at least one polyether sulphide; a lubricant composition including: (a) the antioxidant package composition and (b) at least one base oil; a process for preparing the antioxidant package composition; and a process for preparing the lubricant composition.
Grease composition
Provided is a grease composition for a magnet clutch of an automobile, including: a base oil; and a thickener, wherein the composition contains 5% by mass or more of a sulfur content in terms of sulfur element relative to a total mass of the composition.
Lubricating Oil Composition
A lubricating oil composition including: at least one base oil selected from a mineral oil-based lubricating oil, a synthetic oil-based lubricating oil, or a mixed oil thereof, and zinc dialkyldithiophosphates X consisting of the compounds Z.sub.1 to Z.sub.3 represented by the formulae (1) to (3) are contained, in which a total content of the zinc dialkyldithiophosphates X is 0.02% by mass or more in terms of phosphorus concentration with respect to the total mass of the oil composition, and the zinc dialkyldithiophosphates X satisfy the formulae (a) to (c). In the formula (1), each of R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 independently represents a linear or branched primary alkyl group having from 10 to 20 carbon atoms. In the formula (2), each of R.sup.5 to R.sup.8 independently represents a linear or branched primary alkyl group having from 7 to 9 carbon atoms. In the formula (3), each of R.sup.9 to R.sup.12 independently represents a linear or branched primary or secondary alkyl group having from 3 to 6 carbon atoms. The formula (a) to (c) are shown in the specification.
Nitrogen-free phosphorus compounds and lubricants containing the same
A composition obtained by reacting an O,O-dialkyldithiophosphoric acid with a hydroxyalkyl acrylate or a hydroxyalkyl methacrylate, and reacting the product thereof with a dialkylphosphite provides good antiwear protection.
HYDRAULIC COMPOSITION FOR EXTREME COLD
The invention relates to the field of lubricants and provides a lubricating composition comprising at least one base oil, the kinematic viscosity of which measured at 40 C. does not exceed 10 mm.sup.2/s and the pour point of which does not exceed 50 C., and at least one thickener, said lubricating composition having a pour point not exceeding 55 C.
Process for production of base stocks
Base stocks having Group III/III+ characteristics are prepared from certain advantageous crude oils via simplified process configurations and/or under less severe process conditions. Crude oils comprising a vacuum gas oil (VGO) fraction having a ratio of a sum of paraffin content plus 1-Ring species content to multi-ring species content that is greater than or equal to about 1.5 are advantageous in this context. Other parameters such as API gravity and crude compositional ranges may also be considered for identifying advantageous crudes. In some instances, advantageous crudes are processed into Group III base stocks via a process configuration in which the crude oil is directly supplied to a hydroprocessing unit.
Alkylated alkoxydiarylamine antioxidants
Alkylated diaryl amines further substituted by an alkoxy group on one or more aryl carbon atoms exhibit excellent antioxidant activity in lubricant compositions.
LUBRICATING FLUID
A lubricating fluid suitable for use as a shock absorber fluid is disclosed. The lubricating fluid comprises at least 40 wt %, based upon the weight of the lubricating fluid, of a GTL base oil, has a viscosity index in the range of from 50 to 1000, and a pour point of below 30 C.
