The constituent material of the ceramic body includes grains of ceramic material having a Vickers hardness that is higher than 15 GPa, and a matrix binding the grains, the matrix including a silicon nitride phase and/or a silicon oxynitride phase, the matrix representing between 5 and 40% by weight of the constituent material of the ceramic body. The maximum equivalent diameter of the grains of ceramic material is smaller than or equal to 800 micrometres. The constituent material of the ceramic body has an open porosity that is higher than 5% and lower than 14%. The metallic silicon content in the material, expressed per mm of thickness of the body, is lower than 0.5% by weight.

3D CONCRETE PRINTING WITH WELL ANCHORING CORDS
20230061766 · 2023-03-02 · ·

A concrete construction (100) made by 3D concrete printing that contains: two or more layers (102, 106) of cementitious material extruded one above the other, and at least one elongated steel element (104, 108) reinforcing at least one of the two or more layers. The elongated steel element (104, 108) is provided with a first crimp. Due to the crimp, a good anchorage in concrete is obtained and the anchorage force is predictable, since the standard deviation of the anchorage force is very small. The elongated steel element can be a single steel wire with a diameter D, the amplitude of the crimp ranges from 1.05×D to 5.0×D. The elongated steel element can also be a steel with steel filaments having a maximum diameter d. The amplitude of the crimp ranges from 1.05×d to 5.0×d.

SILICA-BASED THERMAL INSULATION MOULDED BODY

The present invention relates to a process for producing silica-based thermal insulation moulded body comprising at least 50% by weight of synthetic amorphous silica and not more than 50% by weight of natural silica with a specified particle size, thermal insulation moulded body obtainable by this process and the use thereof for thermal and/or acoustic insulation.

MINERAL BINDER

The invention relates to a mineral binder suitable for use in binding aggregate in a mineral mortar or concrete mixture, said binder comprising the following components:

a) at least 40 wt % of calcined kaolinitic clay and ultrafine crushed CDW,
wherein the ratio between calcined clay and ultrafine crushed CDW is between 3:7 and 1:1 (w/w),
b) optionally 2-50 wt. % of a chemical activator; and
wherein the calcined kaolinitic clay, the ultrafine crushed CDW and the optionally present chemical activator are present in a combined amount of at least 90 wt. %, based on the total weight of the binder. The invention further relates to mineral mortar or concrete mixtures based on this mineral binder, as well as building units made from these mixtures.

Method for manufacturing a fire-resistant and/or fire-retardant cable

The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a cable comprising at least one elongate electrically conductive element, at least one composite layer surrounding the elongate electrically conductive element, the composite layer comprising a non-woven fibrous material impregnated by a geopolymer material, and at least one polymer sleeve surrounding the composite layer, the method using a tube of plastic material to facilitate the extrusion of the polymer sleeve around the composite layer.

Hybrid coating for roof applications

Embodiments may include a coated granule for roofing systems. The coated granule may include an aluminum silicate granule and a coating disposed on the aluminum silicate granule. The coating may include a copolymer and a siloxane-based or a silane-based compound. The copolymer may be a cationic fluorinated (meth)acrylic copolymer. The aluminum silicate granule may have a particle size in a range from 0.2 mm to 2.4 mm. The aluminum silicate granule may have a 65% or greater reflectivity. The coated granule may repel oil and maintain its reflectivity better than with other techniques.

Preform for the production of a dental prosthesis

A preform intended for the production of a dental prosthesis. The preform includes a group of agglomerated ceramic, glass-ceramic or glass particles, such that, as volume percents: more than 40% and less than 90% of the particles of said group have a size greater than 0.5 μm and less than 3.5 μm, said particles hereinafter being denoted “enamel particles”, and more than 10% and less than 60% of the particles of said group have a size greater than 3.5 μm and less than 5.5 μm, said particles hereinafter being denoted “dentine particles.” The microstructure of the preform is such that there is an axis X, termed “axis of variation”, along which the Ve/(Ve+Vd) ratio changes continuously, Ve and Vd denoting the volume percents of enamel particles and of dentine particles, respectively. The enamel and dentine particles representing, together, more than 90% of the volume of the agglomerated particles.

A support structure, including an excavation and a plurality of irregularly shaped foamed glass bodies at least partially filing the excavation. Each respective irregularly shaped foamed glass body has an aspect ratio of about 1:1.7 and a diameter of about 1 inch. The irregularly shaped foamed glass bodies intersect to define stacking angles of at least about 35 degrees. Under compression, the irregularly shaped foamed glass bodies crush and break up before slip failure occurs such that the roadbed has a crushing failure mode.

Structure Protection Sheet, Concrete Block, and Method for Manufacturing Reinforced Structure

The present invention provides a structure protection sheet capable of dramatically reducing a construction period to place protective layers on surfaces of structures such as concrete, protecting the structures for a long time, preventing swelling phenomena caused by water vapor inside the concrete, and preventing a decrease in attachability. The present invention relates to a structure protection sheet including: a polymer cement cured layer on a side facing a structure; and a resin layer on the polymer cement cured layer, the structure protection sheet having a water vapor transmission rate of 10 to 50 g/m.sup.2.Math.day.
