POLYCYCLIC-OLEFINIC COMPOSITIONS FOR LOW-LOSS FILMS HAVING IMPROVED THERMAL PROPERTIES
Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass compositions containing one or more polycycloolefinic monomers and at least one multifunctional olefinic monomer which when subjected to a suitable temperature undergoes mass polymerization to provide a three-dimensional insulating article which exhibits hitherto unattainable low dielectric constant and low-loss properties, and very high thermal properties. The compositions of this invention may additionally contain one or more organic or inorganic filler materials, which provide improved thermo-mechanical properties in addition to very low dielectric properties. The compositions are stable at room temperature and undergo mass polymerization only when subjected to suitable higher temperatures generally above 100° C. The compositions of this invention are useful in various applications, including as insulating materials in millimeter wave radar antennas, among others.
HARD COATING COMPOSITION AND WINDOW MEMBER
A hard coating composition includes a norbomene-based compound represented by a Chemical Formula 1 and a polymer including at least one of an epoxy-based resin, a polyurethane-based resin, or an acrylic resin.
IMIDAZOLES AND IMIDAZOLIUM CATIONS WITH EXCEPTIONAL ALKALINE STABILITY
The invention provides: imidazole and imidazolium compounds of formulas (I) and (II):
##STR00001##

COATING COMPOSITIONS
This invention relates to compositions suitable for use as coatings. More particularly, this invention relates to compositions suitable for use as industrial coatings such as anti-corrosion coatings, protective coatings and adhesive coatings. This invention relates to compositions and methods for coating substrates. More particularly, the invention relates to coating compositions and methods for coating substrates, where the coating compositions comprise polymerized olefins and cyclic olefins, via different chemical transformations. The invention also relates to methods of applying the coatings to the substrates.
Ring-opening copolymer composition
A ring-opened copolymer composition has a ring-opened copolymer containing structural unit derived from a norbornene compound represented by general formula (1) below and structural unit derived from a monocyclic olefin, wherein a content of a norbornene compound represented by general formula (1) is 1 ppm by weight or more and 1000 ppm by weight or less based on the ring-opened copolymer, ##STR00001## wherein R.sup.1 to R.sup.4 are each a hydrogen atom, a hydrocarbon group having 1 to 20 carbon atoms, or a substituent containing a halogen atom, a silicon atom, an oxygen atom or a nitrogen atom, and R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 may be bonded to each other to form a ring, and “m” is 0 or 1.
Method of light-promoted frontal ring-opening metathesis polymerization
A method of light-promoted frontal ring-opening metathesis polymerization includes providing a monomer solution including dicyclopentadiene, a ruthenium-based catalyst and a phosphite inhibitor, and exposing the monomer solution to ultraviolet light having a wavelength in a range from 315 nm to 400 nm, thereby initiating an exothermic polymerization reaction and generating a self-propagating polymerization front. The polymerization front moves through the monomer solution and polymerizes the dicyclopentadiene.
Methods and interfaces for detecting a proximity between devices and initiating playback of media
The present disclosure generally relates to interfaces and techniques for media playback on one or more devices. In accordance with some embodiments, an electronic device includes a display, one or more processors, and memory. A proximity between the electronic device and a second device is detected and in response to detecting the proximity between the electronic device and the second device, the media playback status of the electronic device and/or the second device is modified.

Polycycloolefin monomers and catalyst activated by compound capable of generating photoacid as 3D printing materials
Embodiments in accordance with the present invention encompass compositions containing a latent catalyst and a compound capable of generating a Bronsted acid with a counterion capable of coordinating and activating the latent catalyst along with one or more monomers which undergo ring open metathesis polymerization (ROMP) when said composition is exposed to a suitable radiation to form a three-dimensional (3D) object. The catalyst system employed therein can be sensitive to oxygen and thus inhibits polymerization in ambient atmospheric conditions. The three-dimensional objects made by this process exhibits improved mechanical properties, particularly, high distortion temperature, impact strength, elongation to break, among others. Accordingly, compositions of this invention are useful as 3D inkjet materials for forming high impact strength objects of various sizes with microscale features lower than 100 microns, among various other uses.
