The disposable eye patch further comprises a rim ember circumferentially attached to the second layer, wherein the rim member comprises an adhesive for sticking the eye patch to cover the human eye. The adhesive is a safe for contact with the human skin and can be easily removed and discarded after a single use. The disposable eye patch further comprises an absorbent layer attached to the first layer facing the outer surface of the eye.

A two-piece bandage is useful for treating wound on a patient. The bandage includes a boundary portion including a bottom surface comprising adhesive for attaching the boundary portion to skin of a patient, an open window in the middle of the boundary portion permitting one to view a wound through the open window, and a top surface. This disclosure relates to a wound care device which contains capillary force one-way pumps that are capable of transporting fluid, such as wound exudate, away from a wound site to the opposite side of the wound care device, which functions as a segregated fluid reservoir. This fluid transport mechanism generally aids in reducing wound maceration by removing excess wound fluid and the protease enzymes and infectious bacteria contained within the wound fluid. The wound care device performs this function, often times for multiple days, without the loss of the physical integrity of the wound care device. In addition to providing a uni-directional fluid transport mechanism, the wound care device contains a perforated adhesive layer.

A dressing for treating a wound on a digit includes a digit contact layer configured to substantially prevent adherence of the dressing to the wound and an antimicrobial layer coupled to a wound-facing side of the digit contact layer. The antimicrobial layer includes an antimicrobial substance. A dressing may comprise a manifold having a first planar surface and a second planar surface opposite the first planar surface, and a first layer adjacent to the first planar surface and a second layer adjacent to the second planar surface. The first layer and the second layer may be laminated to the first planar surface and the second planar surface, respectively. Pressure-responsive fluid restrictions through at least one of the first layer and the second layer may be adjacent to the manifold. The first layer and the second layer may also form a sleeve or an envelope around the manifold in some embodiments. At least one of the first layer and the second layer may be configured to be disposed between the manifold and a tissue site in use. In some examples, the dressing may have a smooth or matte surface configured to contact a tissue site.

The apparatus includes a waterproof shield element to cover a wound area of a user's body, where the elevated top surface of the shield element is elevated away from the user's body. A retention mechanism selectively retains the shield element against the user's body, utilizing the elevated top surface to create a normal force between the shield element and the user's body to thereby form an effective seal between the shield element and the user's body.
