Vacuum wound therapy wound dressing with variable performance zones
A dressing for an open wound includes a cover layer dimensioned for positioning relative to a wound bed. The cover layer permits an evacuation of the space around the wound bed such that a sub-atmospheric pressure may be established to stimulate healing and facilitate the removal of fluid from the wound. Multiple performance zones in the cover layer allow the wound dressing to remain in position through repeated cycles of evacuation without placing undue strain on the wound bed. An outer peripheral zone may include a high peal-strength adhesive while an intermediate zone may include a shear resistant adhesive. A central zone may be devoid of any coating to maximize moisture transmission through cover layer.
Composite dressings for improved granulation and reduced maceration with negative-pressure treatment
Dressings for tissue treatment with negative pressure and methods of using the dressings for tissue treatment with negative pressure, which may comprise a dressing having at least three layers assembled in a stacked relationship. The first layer may comprise or consist essentially of a polymer film having a plurality of fluid restrictions that are normally unstrained or closed. The second layer may comprise a manifold, and the third layer may comprise or consist essentially of a polymer drape. A fourth layer, which may be coupled to the first layer opposite the second layer, may comprise or consist essentially of a silicone gel having a plurality of apertures. In some examples, the plurality of apertures in the fourth layer may be registered with the fluid restrictions of the first layer.
Multi-layer tubular elasticized wound dressing
A wound dressing is made from a tubular inner layer and at least one outer layer disposed radially beyond the inner layer. The inner layer permits egress of fluid from weeping wounds, prevents desiccation of skin disposed beneath the inner layer, and prevents desiccation of ointment disposed between the inner layer and the skin. The at least one outer layer absorbs fluids that leak through the inner layer, protects the inner layer from outside contaminants, and prevents fluids from escaping. The at least one outer layer is affixed to the inner layer, and each of the layers is elastic in at least the radial direction. Optionally, a layer of ointment may be applied to an inner surface of the inner layer. Note that the tubular inner layer may be either pre-formed or formed at the time of application.
TUBULAR BANDAGE
Tubular bandage, in particular a finger or toe bandage which is formed as a tube comprising an outer layer which is connected to an inner layer, and wherein the outer layer has a diameter and an elasticity such that the bandage can be clamped adhesive-free around the body part to be treated, in the particular, said finger or said toe, and wherein the inner layer is made of an elastic wound-protective material, wherein said outer layer is made of an air-permeable and water-repellent material, and wherein, at the open endings, said outer layer extends in the longitudinal direction over the inner layer over a distance of more than 0.5 mm, such that the outer layer touches the body part to be treated, in particular a finger or toe, with its endings when applied.
SILICONE WOUND AND SCAR TREATMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
The present invention relates to a dispenser for the silicone sheeting and the adhesive anchors and method for treating sites, such as wounds or closed incisions, using the silicone sheeting and anchors. The silicone sheeting may be provided in the form of a roll, which includes a leader. The silicone sheeting may be cut from the roll, or may be of precut sizes. Adhesive anchors may be cut from a roll or may be of precut sizes. The dispenser allows for easy access to silicone sheeting for wound treatment and adhesive anchors for securement of the silicone sheets, especially in high tension areas of the body.
Barrier Band
The Barrier Band for an area on a human body, involving a vascular device access area. The present invention relates to an apparatus that provides a barrier between a person's skin, and any vascular access device, and its components, to prevent compromising skin and to provide comfort to a person. The actual barrier is provided in several variations. The Barrier Band is offered in both a washable and disposable version, and its size, style and stitching, if any, are offered in a variety ways, which is determined by a person's weight and what body part is being covered. It may or may not have an adjustable apparatus or any other suitable component to tighten or loosen the band.
DRESSING FOR A NURSING MOTHER
A dressing for the irritated breast of a nursing mother is described. The dressing is composed of hydrocolloid and non-adherent protective layers for covering the injured nipple and areola.
Wound dressing for wound treatment in a damp or wet environment
The disclosure relates to a wound dressing comprising a fibre fleece-based body, and a packaging forming the outer visible sides of the wound dressing, which packaging contains a layer made from a flat textile on the side of the wound dressing facing the wound, which has an outer-side, partially and structurally applied coating, and wherein the packaging has a fibre fleece layer on the side of the wound dressing facing away from the wound, which forms the outer visible side of the wound dressing; and, a liquid-impermeable plastic film layer on the side of the fibre fleece layer facing the wound, and wherein the fibre fleece layer, the plastic film layer, the body and the textile layer are not connected to one another, but rather lie with the flat sides thereof loosely and movably against one another and are only connected along the peripheral edges by a joint connection.
Self-fusing low density silicone
An adhesive free self-fusing material being either of open or closed cell polymer (silicone) based material that can be used to create a permanent elastic band for compression and support dressings. The proprietary polymer material upon contact with itself, initiates a room temperature reaction of self-vulcanization with the contact surfaces of itself. This eliminates the need for any adhesives which some patients experience negative reactions. In an example embodiment, the material comprises Vinyl stopped polydimethyl siloxane, amorphous silica, and dimethylpolysiloxane.
