Landmarks from digital photo collections
Methods and systems for automatic detection of landmarks in digital images and annotation of those images are disclosed. A method for detecting and annotating landmarks in digital images includes the steps of automatically assigning a tag descriptive of a landmark to one or more images in a plurality of text-associated digital images to generate a set of landmark-tagged images, learning an appearance model for the landmark from the set of landmark-tagged images, and detecting the landmark in a new digital image using the appearance model. The method can also include a step of annotating the new image with the tag descriptive of the landmark.
Self-learning nowcast system for modeling, recording, and predicting convective weather
The systems, methods, and apparatuses described herein provide integrated weather forecast products designed to assist operations managers with operational decision-making related to a designated event or set of events. The present disclosure provides a way to process weather data from various sources and in diverse data formats containing varying spatial resolutions and temporal resolutions, in order to generate an integrated and cohesive weather projection product such that the weather projection product is continuous in both spatial and temporal domains relative to a designated event or set of events.
Server, client terminal, system, and program for presenting landscapes
There is provided a server including a reception unit configured to receive, from a client terminal, position information indicating a position of the client terminal, and direction information indicating a direction in which the client terminal is directed, and a search unit configured to search for image data provided with position information indicating an opposite position across a target object present in the direction indicated by the direction information with respect to the position of the client terminal based on the position information.
LOCALIZING RELEVANT OBJECTS IN MULTI-OBJECT IMAGES
Solutions for localizing relevant objects in multi-object images include receiving a multi-object image; detecting a plurality of detected objects within the multi-object image; generating a primary heatmap for the multi-object image, the primary heatmap having at least one region of interest; determining a relevant detected object corresponding to a region of interest in the primary heatmap; determining an irrelevant detected object not corresponding to a region of interest in the primary heatmap; and indicating the relevant detected object as an output result but not indicating the irrelevant detected object as an output result. Some examples identify a plurality of objects that are visually similar to the relevant object and displaying the visually similar objects to a user, for example as recommendations of alternative catalog items on an e-commerce website. Some examples are able to identify a plurality of relevant objects and display multiple sets of visually similar objects.
AUTHENTICATION BASED ON OBJECT RECOGNITION
Various systems, mediums, and methods herein describe aspects of an authentication system. The system may receive a request from a user device to authenticate a user. The system may determine a route travelled by the user. The route can be determined based at least on data retrieved from the user device of the user. The system may determine one or more objects viewable along the route. At least one image of the one or more objects can be selected. The system may communicate the at least one image and at least one other image to the user device to be displayed on the user device. The system may receive a selection of the at least one image by the user through a display of the user device. The authentication of the user can be based, at least in part, on the user selection of the at least one image.
Method and system for conveying data from monitored scene via surveillance cameras
A system and method for monitoring sensors via surveillance cameras is disclosed. In the system, surveillance cameras generating image data of scenes, where the sensors are included in the scenes. The sensors detect information concerning the scenes and encode the information so that it can be derived from the image data. Preferably, the sensors encode the information concerning the scenes by modulating a visible light source, the signals of which are captured within the image data by the cameras. An analytics system then analyzes the image data and decodes the information from the sensors encoded within the image data. Preferably, an integrated analytics system of the cameras executes the analysis. Exemplary sensors include sensors for detecting temperature, moisture, audio/voice, and product selection in a retail premises.
Browsing images via mined hyperlinked text snippets
Images stored in an information repository are prepared for browsing. For each image in the repository, text in the repository is mined to extract snippets of text about the image which are semantically relevant to the image, and for each of these snippets of text, keyterms are detected in the snippet of text which represent either concepts that are related to the image or entities that are related to the image, and the snippet of text and keyterms are associated with the image. Each keyterm that is associated with each image in the repository is hyperlinked to each other image in the repository that has this keyterm associated therewith. A graphical user interface allows a user to browse the images in the repository by using their associated snippets of text and hyperlinked keyterms.

Event taken-picture arrangement device, control method thereof and control program thereof
Disclosed are an event-specific taken picture arrangement device, a control method thereof and a control program thereof capable of efficiently observing the status of a change of a specific object by event. Multiple pictures P are divided into event picture groups ga1, gb1, gc1, and the like by event using a picture-taking date. The event picture groups ga1 and the like are further grouped into a plurality of groups of taken picture Ev1 to Ev6 by identical event. The taken pictures P of the identical event are consecutively arranged in an electronic album by identical event.
System and method for selecting sponsored images to accompany text
A system for selecting an image to accompany text from a user in connection with a social media post. The system includes receiving text from the user; identifying one or more search terms based on the text; identifying candidate images from images in one or more image databases using the search terms, where the candidate images comprise a sponsored image; presenting one or more candidate images to the user, where the sponsored image is presented preferentially compared to other candidate images; receiving from the user a selected image from the one or more candidate images; generating the social media post comprising the selected image and the user-submitted text; and transmitting the social media post for display.
