A collision activated RFID recorder for a vehicle having an RFID reader/recorder, the RFID reader/recorder has a transceiver. A transceiver has a receiver capable of receiving signals and a transmitter capable of sending signals. A collision activated RFID reader/recorder is in electrical communication with memory. Imported data may be stored in the memory of the activated RFID reader/recorder. The collision activated RFID reader/recorder has a collision sensor configured to be mounted on a vehicle. The collision sensor has an antenna configured to transmit an activation signal to the transceiver of the RFID reader/recorder, whereby, said collision sensor detects a collision, generates said activation signal, and then transmits the activation signal to the transceiver of said radio-frequency identification recorder. The RFID reader/recorder is configured to be activated when the transceiver of the RFID reader/recorder receives the activation signal from the collision sensor.

METAL TRANSACTION CARD WITH REMOVABLE INDICIA

Metal transaction cards with removable indicia are provided. In some approaches, a transaction card may include a metal body having a first main side and a second main side, and an identification chip coupled to the first main side of the metal body. The transaction card may further include an exterior layer along the second main side, the exterior layer containing identifying indicia, wherein at least a portion of the exterior layer is removable from the second main side by at least one of: a set of perforations through the exterior layer, and a channel provided along an outer edge of the second main side.

Dynamic magnetic stripe communications device with stepped magnetic material for magnetic cards and devices
11023796 · 2021-06-01 · ·

A flexible card may include a dynamic magnetic stripe communications device having multiple layers, such as an electromagnetic generator, a magnet, and a shield. A shield may form a non-flexible layer within the stack and may bend, but the shield may not be able to stretch or compress. Flexible layers may surround and adhere to the shield such that when the card is flexed, the flexible layers may stretch and compress with the movement of the shield. The dynamic magnetic stripe communications device may include one or more coils. Each coil may contain a stepped material, such that a length of a lower layer of the stepped material is longer than a length of a middle layer of the stepped material which is longer than a length of a top layer of the stepped material.

Tag system and method for long-distance detection of objects

The present invention describes a tag comprising a magnetic element in the form of a microwire of 80-250 microns with giant magnetoimpedance which, when joined to an object, allows for the wireless detection of same by modulating the reflectivity of the microwire. Detection is performed by using a system that emits an electromagnetic wave that has a frequency between 1 and 20 GHz and a low frequency magnetic field (0.01-50 Hz), and detects the modulation of the reflectivity of the microwire. Thus, objects at distances greater than 1 m can be detected.

Mobile card reader for lightning protection systems

A mobile card reader can be configured to connect to an input module of a mobile device. The mobile card reader can scan a magnetic stripe card from a structure exposed to lightning strikes in order to output a lightning-indicator signal to the input module. The lightning-indicator signal can be analyzed to determine a magnitude of a lightning strike to which the magnetic stripe card and the structure have been exposed.
