Self-Aligning Holster For J1772 Plug Used In Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment
20230106493 · 2023-04-06 · ·

An electric vehicle charger for charging a vehicle has a housing. A holster is fixedly attached to the housing having a latch partition and a plug partition. The plug partition houses a plug latch. A plug having a male charging connector is inserted into the hosung, where a spring-loaded latch positioned on a male charging connector engages and disengages the plug latch. The plug partition has a curvature that allows the plug to be inserted into the holster at an angle for engaging the spring-loaded latch with the plug latch. The spring-loaded latch disengages from the plug latch by a radial movement along the path of the curvature.

Connector assembly

A connector assembly includes a circuit board, a mounting bracket and a cable connector. The circuit board has a number of conductive pads. The cable connector includes an insulating body, a number of conductive terminals and cables. The insulating body includes a mounting surface. Each conductive terminal includes an elastic contact portion. The mounting bracket includes a frame portion and an installation space enclosed by the frame portion. The cable connector is at least partially received in the installation space so that the elastic contact portions are in contact with the conductive pads. Compared with the prior art, the present disclosure directly installs the cable connector on the circuit board by setting the mounting bracket, thereby omitting the socket connector and reducing the volume of the connector assembly.

Connector assembly

A connector assembly includes a first connector and a second connector matable with the first connector. The first connector has a first housing and a pair of first conductive terminals disposed in the first housing each having a pair of first elastic terminals arranged symmetrically in a vertical direction. Each pair of first elastic terminals has a pair of front ends adapted to be brought into elastic and electrical contact with a pair of first wires inserted into the first connector. The second connector has a second housing and a pair of second conductive terminals disposed in the second housing each having a rear end adapted to be brought into elastic and electrical contact with a second wire inserted into the second connector. The pair of first elastic terminals each have a rear end adapted to clamp a front end of one of the second conductive terminals.

PLUG CONNECTION, PLUG CONNECTOR, LATCHING MEANS, AND METHOD FOR FORMING THE LATCHING MEANS

An electrical and/or optical plug connection has a first plug connector and a second plug connector which can be fit to the first plug connector and which corresponds to the first plug connector. The first and second plug connectors each have a plug face which has a first sheet metal contact and a corresponding second sheet metal contact which can be fit together in an electrically contacting manner. The plug connectors further include first and second optical and/or electrical plug contacts which are fit together and which arranged with spacing from the first and second sheet metal contacts. A latching hook having a latching hook and latching arm is provided on the first plug connector and a corresponding latching recess having a latching edge is provided on the second plug connector. A hook portion (1 of the latching hook is connected to the latching arm via a bending line which deviates from a straight line and has a raised 3D shaped surface region with at least one open side.
