Ultrasonically cleaned low-pressure filter
A filter device having a sonotrode connected to a filtration assembly. The filtration assembly has a filter body having a fluid passage. The filter body has a filter across the fluid passage. The filter assembly has a resonant frequency and the sonotrode is adapted to vibrate the filter assembly at or near the resonant frequency.

Method and system for filtration and filtration cake layer formation
The present invention relates to filtration of liquids, such as water, containing substances that desirably should be removed from the liquids. The invention relates in particular to a filtration cake, being produced in situ of a cleaning system from substances that desirably should be filtered away. Particular preferred embodiments of the present invention relate to treatment of waste water, where an activated sludge is provided, which sludge contains activated sludge flocs. These flocs are accumulated on a fluid penetrable support structure to form a layer of flocs, which subsequently is compressed to form a filter of desired properties. The invention also relates to adapting waste wateror other liquids containing biodegradable substancesto optimized biodegradation and filtration by deflocculating flocs in an activated sludge during or before a biodegradation step and subsequently promoting re-flocculation prior to filtering or other means of biomass separation.
APPARATUS FOR REMOVING IMPURITIES FROM WATER OR WASTEWATER AND A METHOD OF INSTALLING A FLUID DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM THEREIN
An apparatus for removing impurities from water and/or wastewater and a method of installing a fluid distribution system in the apparatus. In the most preferred form of the invention, the fluid distribution system is an air scour system for directing air through the filter bed to assist in cleaning of the filter bed to remove impurities trapped in the filter bed during a service run. In the most preferred form, the method of installing the fluid distribution system in the filter bed is performed by imparting a force to the filter bed to permit the fluid distribution system to be installed in the filter bed without removing media. The fluid distribution system is preferably configured to permit the fluid distribution system to be readily installed in the filter bed and at an optimum orientation.
PROCESS FOR REGENERATING FILTER AID USED IN A WINTERIZATION PROCESS
The present invention relates to a process for in situ regeneration of spent filler aid including the steps of: a) circulating through a spent filter aid cake in a circulation loop a regenerating oil at a temperature of from 40 C. to 100 C., in a regenerating oil spent filter aid (v/w)ratio from 0,3/1 to 12/1; b) removing the regenerating oil from the treated spent filter aid cake; and recovering the regenerated filter aid,
ROTATING FILTER FOR A DISHWASHER AND METHODS OF CLEANING A ROTATING FILTER
A dishwasher with a tub at least partially defining a washing chamber, a liquid spraying system, a liquid recirculation circuit, and a liquid filtering system where the liquid filtering system includes a rotating filter and where a granular agent contacts the rotating filter to clean the filter. Methods of cleaning a rotating filter provided within a liquid flow by scouring the filter with a granular agent.

Solid water separation to sample spray water from a continuous caster
The invention is directed towards methods and apparatus for improving the accuracy of monitors measuring the property of spray water used to cool a molten metal strand in a continuous casting operation. The method utilizes a highly effective slid-sieve to remove particles from sample water that would otherwise jam the monitor or would break the monitor. This particle removal results in the monitor providing more accurate measurements which in turn results in lower operating expenses, reduced maintenance costs, and production costs.
SOLIDS SENSING TECHNOLOGY
Fluid filtration devices and methods of filtering fluids are described. The devices generally include a housing, a hollow filter assembly, a rotating cleaning assembly and a device to measure the accumulation of solids in the filter housing. In some embodiments the accumulation of solids is measured by measuring the torque required to rotate the cleaning assembly. Torque may be measured directly, such as with a torque sensor, or indirectly, such as by measuring the current used by an electric motor to drive rotation of the cleaning assembly. In some embodiments a purge valve is opened to remove accumulated solids from the housing when a certain level of solids accumulation is detected.
