DEVICE AND METHOD FOR WATER PRIMING MICROPOROUS-CARBON WATER FILTERS USING NEGATIVE PRESSURE
A method and system for water-priming carbon micropore filter media using negative pressure. The method includes placing dry filter elements in a polymer bag, applying a vacuum of no more than approximately 33 kPa above zero pressure, and heat-sealing the bag using a heat-set bar; submerging, by a consumer, the vacuum-sealed bag with its the filter elements in water; the filters in the vacuum sealed bag are at least partially submerged, puncturing the bag to form one or more small openings in the bag below the water line. Breeching the vacuum causes the water to flow through the openings into the bag and the filter(s) to equalize the pressure between the water and the previously vacuum environment of the plastic bag, causing the surrounding water to quickly flow into the micro-pores of the filter media, thereby priming the carbon filter for use in the gravity-fed water-purification system.
Method for Concentrating Solids and Removing Solids from a Filter Medium
Disclosed are methods for concentrating solids and removing solids from a filter medium. The method includes the step of concentrating first particles of a first solid by removing a fluid stream through a filter medium in a filter. At least some of the first particles become blocking particles that block pores of the filter medium. The method also includes the step of inserting second particles of a second solid into the filter. These second particles scrape, vibrate, agglomerate, or a combination thereof along the filter medium, thus dislodging at least a portion of the blocking particles.
Method and system for filtration and filtration cake layer formation
The present invention relates to a method of filtering a feed and waste water treatment system using the filtration method. The method utilizes a filtration cake for the filtration, which filtration cake is formed by elements contained in a liquid having a different composition than the feed to the filtered. The invention relates in particular to a method for filtering a liquid containing solid particles of different sizes which utilizes a filtration cake formed at least partly and preferably only from particles contained in said liquid containing solid particles of different sizes. The particles of the filtration cake are deposited on a filtration cake support and the method involves separation of the liquid containing solid particles of different sizes into two fractions: one fraction containing solid particles above a certain size and one containing smaller particles, and filtering the fraction containing smaller particles through the filtration cake. According to preferred aspects of the invention, the feed to be filtered is activated sludge supernatant and the filtration cake is formed from floes of an activated sludge mixed liquor.
CHEMICAL LIQUID MANUFACTURING METHOD AND CHEMICAL LIQUID MANUFACTURING DEVICE
An object of the present invention is to provide a chemical liquid manufacturing method which makes it possible to manufacture a chemical liquid having an excellent defect inhibition performance. The chemical liquid manufacturing method of an embodiment of the present invention is a method for manufacturing a chemical liquid containing an organic solvent by using a manufacturing device. The chemical liquid manufacturing method has a setup step including a step A of washing the manufacturing device by using a washing solution and a step B of extracting the washing solution from the manufacturing device and a preparation step of preparing the chemical liquid in the manufacturing device, in which in the setup step, the step A and the step B are repeatedly performed until the washing solution extracted from the manufacturing device satisfies the following condition 1 after the step A and the step B.
Condition 1: in a case where a substrate is coated with the washing solution, a change in density of particles, which have a particle diameter equal to or smaller than 20 nm, on the substrate before and after the coating with the washing solution is equal to or smaller than 0.5 particles/cm2.

Liquid filtering bag
A liquid filtering bag comprises a liquid-permeable fabric and zipper. When the zipper is fully engaged, the fabric folds to form a liquid filtering bag suitable for filtering liquids. When the zipper is fully disengaged, the fabric unfolds to form a flat sheet suitable for thorough washing.

Backflushing filter
A backflushing filter having an inlet, an outlet, and a drain; a filter that divides a housing into an inlet chamber that is connected to the inlet and an outlet chamber that is connected to the outlet; a backflushing device having a suction element arranged so that it is able to rotate around the filter on the inlet side of the housing with at least one suction opening that is oriented in the suction direction toward the filter for filter-cleaning purposes; a backflushing duct connected to a suction opening and the drain; and a rotating device which drives the rotational movement of the suction element around the filter when a pressure drop occurs in the backflushing duct; wherein when the pressure drop in the backflushing duct occurs, the rotating device drives the rotational movement of the suction element by the suction direction of the suction opening that is inclined relative to the radial direction of the suction element.
