The PLA based film comprises a semicrystalline polylactic acid polymer, a second of a polyvinyl acetate polymer having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of at least 25 C., and plasticizer. The article is typically a tape or sheet that may further comprise an adhesive (e.g. pressure sensitive) and a low adhesion backsize or a release liner. A method of forming a graphic article using the film of the invention is also disclosed.

The present invention is directed to a novel co-extruded multilayer structure that possess a draw down ratio superior than the critical draw-down ratio of each one of the polymeric layers, extruded individually. The present invention is also directed to a method for obtaining the co-extruded multilayer structure. The co-extruded multilayer structure obtainable by the method described herein allows preparing films, filaments or spun-melt non-wovens of low weight at high speed using conventional extrusion equipments. The co-extruded multilayer structure is especially suitable as diaper back-sheets or flexible packaging coatings.

PUSH THROUGH BLISTER PACKAGE WITH PLASTIC LIDDING

Provided is a single material plastic push-through blister pack for food and pharmaceutical packaging and a method of making thereof. The blister package may be produced by thermoforming polymer films for the cavity and a cavitated polymer film made from the same class of polymer comparatively lower thickness for the substrate or lid. To facilitate the push through breaking, the polymer film used as the lidding film may be modified to a microcavitated film by creating micro-voids/cavities and micro-brittleness within the polymer matrix. These micro-voids/cavities, and/or embedded microcrystalline particles present in the polymer matrix of the lidding film, may create internal cracks in the film by application of a small external force, which may then result in rupturing of the lid film to dispense a product from the cavity of the blister pack.

Sound attenuating laminate materials

Sound absorbing or attenuating laminate flooring materials are provided, which are directed to be used in the production of floor covering, floor panels, furniture panels, cabinets, counter-tops and wall panels. As well, the methods for producing such products are provided. In particular, abrasion resistant panels, with a laminated structure, created by forming an assembly which consists of laminating a heat-activated resin impregnated paper wear layer, a decorative layer with printed graphics or a wood veneer decorative layer, a medium density (MDF) or high-density (HDF) natural fiber-based core and a resin impregnated paper balancing layer. To achieve sound absorbing and/or attenuating properties, any or all paper layers may be pre coated with an additional flexible elastomeric coating, film or material prior to assembly of the panel, or the natural fiber core panel may be coated with a flexible elastomeric coating, film or material prior to assembly with the papers. The flexible elastomeric coating, film or material acts to absorb, reduce, and/or ameliorate the sound transmissions inherent in laminated panels.
