The composition includes: at least one binder chosen from phenolic resins, and particles formed from at least one pulverulent solid chosen from glass, polymers and silica, and mixtures thereof, the particles having an average size of less than 1 mm, wherein the composition includes between 34% and 50% by weight of the pulverulent material relative to the total weight of the composition. A sandwich composite material including such a composition and a process for preparing such a sandwich composite material are also described.

MULTI-LAYER FILTER FABRIC

A multi-layer filter fabric includes a first layer that includes a first non-woven fabric and a second layer that includes a second non-woven fabric. Each layer may include multiple webs. The first and second layers have different median pores sizes and porosities, with the first layer having a larger median pore size and/or porosity than the second layer. The first and second layers may be separated by a scrim. The first and second layers are colored or have visible markings such that the first and second layers are readily distinguished from each other. The multi-layer filter fabric is arranged so that a fluid may enter the multi-layer filter fabric through the first layer and exit through the second layer.

Tearable polystyrene film laminate for packaging and pouch purposes
10000042 · 2018-06-19 · ·

The current disclosure relates to a polymeric laminate structure having an outer polystyrene film, either blown or cast, comprised of crystal polystyrene homopolymer, optionally blended with up to about 45 wt-% of high impact polystyrene and/or inorganic fillers.

Co-extruded impact-modified PMMA film

The present invention relates to novel matt PMMA foils for application on materials as foil providing protection from weathering effects and as decorative foil. In particular, the present invention relates to a novel, at least two-layer PMMA foil which features particularly good adhesion on the substrate. The outer layer here exhibits the mattness, and the inner layer here comprises a low-molecular-weight component which improves adhesion on the substrate.

Composite ballistic resistant laminate

An impact penetration resistant laminate comprises a plurality of alternating layers of (i) non-fibrous ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene monolayers and (ii) a thermoplastic adhesive, the adhesive having a basis weight of no greater than 5 gsm and a zero-shear-rate viscosity, determined from an oscillating disc rheometer in a frequency sweep between 0.1 rad/s and 100 rad/s, conducted per ASTM D 4440 at 125 C., and calculated from fitting to a Carrea-Yasuda four parameter model, of at least 1500 Pa-s, wherein (a) at least 90 percent of the monolayers are arranged such that the orientation of one monolayer is offset with respect to the orientation of an adjacent monolayer, and (b) the modulus of elasticity through the thickness of the laminate is at least 3 GPa.

Layered insulation system

A layered insulation system comprising one or more layers. A variety of types of layers can be used in conjunction with one another to deliver a range of desired Low-E and/or Low-U insulation properties and/or venting choices. Some types of layers can be foam layers with foam that inhibits heat conjunction interspersed with microparticles and/or nanoparticles that reflect, scatter, abate, and/or negate infrared radiation (IR) wavelengths, including dampening Ideal Model Matrix vibrations to inhibit heat flux through an IR opaque system. Other layers can be Low-E layers, Low-U layers, primarily empty layers, and/or other types of layers.

RELEASABLE POLYESTER HIGH GLOSS METAL TRANSFER FILM METHOD
20180141320 · 2018-05-24 · ·

A carrier film of thermoplastic polyester has releasable metal adhesive properties suitable for a metal transfer in which the polyester film is metalized and the metal layer is subsequently transferred to a permanent adhesive-coated substrate. The metal layer is in direct contact with the polyester carrier film and no intermediate release layer is present. Desired metal adhesion is provided by dispersing an suitable surfactant, and optionally, a hydrocarbon wax, uniformly into the polyester film. Surfactant on the outer surface of the carrier film modifies metal adhesion to the polyester such that the metal can be removed in a metal transfer operation.

COMPOSITE GYPSUM BOARD AND METHODS RELATED THERETO

Disclosed is a composite gypsum board comprising a board core and a concentrated layer of substantial thickness (e.g., at least about 0.02 inches). The concentrated layer includes a higher weight percentage of an enhancing additive than the board core. The board core has a thickness greater than the thickness of the concentrated layer and forms the bulk of the board volume. The concentrated layer has a higher density (e.g., at least about 1.1 times greater) than the density of the board core. Also disclosed is a method of preparing a composite gypsum board.
